When i first bought halo (like 2 weeks ago) i played it perfectly and no errors. But when i downloaded halo CE both it and halo crash my OS after about 15-20 of playing offline and online. My screen just goes black and it sits there till i restart it. I reinstalled everything but halo ce and no problems. But as soon as i installed CE same crash! Please help!

Somebody else in here will give you a better answer but as for your crash, I know for a fact that some of thses places that give you Halo CE download have a bug in them. An ok place is download.com for example. But http://www.muffmeister.co.uk/ is a good place to. So you can try erasing and getting Halo CE and getting it from a different site. You can also try google if you want. But anyways try that. Someone else will be along to tell you the real problem if im wrong.

Heyyo,

HaloCE in no way AFFECTS HaloPC. It's 2 completely different installs.

What kindof computer you got? especially the videocard. is it Nvidia or ati?

Also, how hot is your cpu? if it starts to overheat, most bios'es turn the computer off, so check into that too...

I have a 1.5 amd athalon with 512 mb of ram and a radeon 9600 pro. I dont know the temp of my comp but its not to high cause its not enclosed in a shelf or anything and i keep my room pretty cool. And it does affect halo cause for some reason it will crash Halo pc only after its been installed.

Heyyo,

I have a AMD AthlonXP 3000+ (runs just as efficient as a 3.0GHz compared to a P4, but its actual clock speed is something like 2.1GHZ) and that thing overheats a lot. Before on the default fan it ran at 58ºC which's pretty hot, and at 65ºC it shuts my computer off. I now have a Termaltake Volcano12 and it runs at 44ºC, so that's very healthy for my CPU. Here's an easy test: when in halo, put your hand behind your computer and feel the temperature of the air from your power supply fan and anyother fans, if you feel some heat, that's usually not a good sign. Sure, it heats up the room, which's cool, but in this case? hot can burn up your computer parts.. on my old AMD AthlonXP 1900+, that thing also ran pretty high, I think like 56ºC on the default fan.....

Hmm, that videocard should be fine since I have the same thing... what drivers you using with it? I find the catalyst v4.5 drivers to run the smoothest... try those...

Well my video card is nice but my 4x agp slot aint. And im not sure if that will create any heat because of the speed differences. Also how are you measuring your comps temp. Oh and i also play Half life 2 and source and never a problem.

You will pribily need a better fan no matter how cold your room is. Try useing the one i have on my sig it works great and even flashes blue and red and looks like a jet engine. Hey mard what fan u got on ur's. My dad got a amd 64 3000 and he uses the gygabye 3d cooler (this fan works for amd xp 64 and intel) You can mesure the temp of your computer by going into the bios and for the gygabyte boards looking for a option called system heath or something like that. IT shows the cpu temp and the atmoshpere inside the case.

Heyyo,

I gotta Termaltake Volcano12.. massive one this is. I love it. Since it's for Socket A, it's meant for the Athlon XP and Duron and Tunderbird lineups.

Hmm, HL2 runs fine? so it ain't overheating... Someone else had a prob like this... I'll have to scavenge the boards for answers...

Well, the only one I see is Ace, he said his new ramchip was giving him probs, did you do any computer upgrading recently?
