It most likely has something to do with Xbox Live not working. I'm guessing that there are certain check sums that need to be made to ensure a player's content is legit, but because Xbox Live is down the checking isn't working, as such the content won't load. Something like that, I don't know. It's just a stab in the dark really, but I'm still pretty sure it's a combination of some kind of anti-cheating measure, plus the fact that Xbox Live acting up.

just press B exit off the screen and try to load it again. It worked for me. The three maps came back up and I was able to edit them

Same thing happened to me. It turned out my disc was scratched. Just get a disc cleaner and clean the disc well and it should load the maps again. If that fails then you just need to get a new Halo 3.

You players that are having trouble loading content....

Do you find that your Xbox360 is also making a strange noise when it tries to load content? Sort of like a subtle Rrrrrrrrr Rrrrrrrrrr Rrrrrrrrrrr sound? It sounds like it is trying the find something on the disc, but the laser reader is just not finding it.

Does anyone else have that trouble? I just want to know before I think it is an Xbox360 issue and not a disc issue.

I found out that my disc was cracked. It was cracked from the middle ring to the game emultion.

I could not get a free replacement because the damage was physical and not a product defect.

Once I got a new disc, my problems were solved.

I thought it was my 360 at first. I was about to take it in but I had my disc cleaned one more time and it turns out that it wasn't the 360. And yes, my 360 was making noises too. Which ever game isn't working just take to a friends house and see if it works there. If it doesn't I would try another place just to make sure before you blame your 360.

SOULTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I found a way around the error. Im not to sure on exactly what the problem is, but it's like a bug on your hard drive. Since Bungie has not came out with an update yet for the error heres a quick solution.

1. BUY A MEMORY CARD (Does not really matter what size)

2. PLUG IN YOUR MEMORY CARD. (Have your system shut doen when doing this)

3. TURN THE SYSTEM ON.

4. GO TO SYSTEM SETTINGS-MEMORY. YOU WILL SEE YOUR HARD DRIVE AND YOUR MEMORY UNIT.

5. GO TO THE HARD DIVE AND MOVE THE "HALO3 SAVE DATA" AND YOUR "GAMER PROFILE" TO THE MEMORY UNIT. (You can then copy the data back to your hard drive if you would like)

6. CHECK AND MAKE SURE THAT THE DATA TRANSFERED TO THE MEMORY UNIT THEN SHUT DOWN YOUR SYSTEM.

7. TAKE OUT YOUR HARD DRIVE ON THE SYSTEM LEAVEING JUST THE MEMORY UNIT IN.

8. TURN YOUR SYSTEM BACK ON AND LOAD THE GAME AND SIGN IN YOUR GAMER PROFILE FROM THE MEMORY UNIT.

9. ENJOY!

ALright so yesterday i was playing halo 3 as usual and i switched to forge to continue something i'd been working on, and all of a sudden foundry said "players failed to load content", at first i thought no biggie probably just a temporary issue, so i reset the xbox cleaned the disk and rebooted, but i still had the error, i then checked all levels and i cant seem to load any level atall it just gives me the "players failed to load content" message.

I know xbox live has been not functioning properly lately, Does anyone know if this is an xbox live issue? a disc issue? or an xbox 360 issue?.. i thought at first it may be i need to get a new disc, but then i remembered foundry, standoff and rats nest aren't on the disc and i can't load them either, there offcourse downloaded content, i'm very puzzled atm, is anyone else having this issue, or does anyone know of a solution? help would be much appreciated...

Dude!!!!!

That actually worked. Hahahah you may have saved Bungie from losing a customer. Now, the strange thing in this scenario is with my HD connected COD4 works fine, but not HALO3 and since I purchased a 120G HD , I'd like to not have to continue disconnecting and reconnecting depending on which game I'm playing. So do you have any idea what is preventing my from using my HD with HALO??

Thx Bro,
T
