So I bought a Xbox, and a Live Starter Kit, but after a couple of days my father found a much better offer on the box, 300 Norwegian kroner cheaper (Xbox costs 1499 NOK normally in Norway, do the maths yourself) and it was even the crystal version! So we decided to return my black box and buy a new crystal (because for some reason the shop we bought it at allows us to return the Xbox even though its hard drive was previously a bestiality porntopia or whatever you prefer, as long as everything it came with is still there when we return it.
Now to the core of the problem; quite naturally I wanted to delete my Live account on the black box, but when I pressed the Delete button it said "Are you sure you want to DELETE your account PERMANENTLY?!?!??!?!" or something along that, and it got me worried, cause I don't really know how to get my account back when I buy my new Xbox, a memory card is out of the question since it costs 300 NOK, and thats a lot for my virtually scrapped pocket now...
So I seek help from you, gallant Bungie fans of the third age!
Meh...

"My knee is bleeding, can I have a bandaid?" "Today its your knee, and in 10 years it'll be your wrists, why are you making this my problem?"

Do this again and I'll brand your ass with the banning prod

Buy a xbox memory unit, it will allow you to save you're xbox live account on it and play on any other xbox with access to broadband internet. Works wonders to me.

you should be able to delete the account then do an account recovery on your new xbox. i know you have to call microsoft to cancel your account.

All you have to do is perform an account recovery on your new Xbox. The account on your old Xbox will no longer work if you do.

Not to question your judgment twice in one day goweb but using the account recovery is one of the methods listed to "copy" your account to a friends xbox. I don't believe it removes your account from you old xbox.

It doesn't remove it, but it does make it inoperable.

Your correct... I just read that if you use account recovery to move your account to a friends you'll have to do an account recovery on your own box later on.
