Subject: Did Bungie plan Halo 2 to be an MLG game?

They probably just invited the MLG guys to playtest the game. I doubt that it was planned to be an MLG game -- it wasn't developed specifically for one group of fans, but for the entire community.

Did you read the text that pops up?

I hate everything, but it's not my fault.

Bungie knew MLG would be into Halo 2.

Yeah...They were into Halo 1, too, of course they would want to use Halo 2.

So that's why they planned on making Halo 2 more enjoyable for MLG.

No, you are coming to a conclusion and a cause based on assumptions and are likely putting the cart in front of the horse.

Bungie is a game developing studio. Period. They design, build and make games that they think are cool and that they hope will sell. That's it. They do consider their potential audience and take that into consideration, but you appear to be assuming that gaming leagues were a prime target.

MLG is a business. They are in business to promote their tournaments and their players. They make their money off of events, sponsors and viewers who want to see people play videogames professionally. They take off the shelf games and alter the settings/rules to operate best within their tournaments and at the level of play of their players.

That makes MLG a potential customer in the fact that they could use the game, but there is nothing stopping them (that I am aware of) from using any console game in their tournaments. How they select what games they use is a matter that is internal to them.

Other than those facts, I don't see how you can conclude what you stated. Unless you have memos or something that document what "Bungie planned"?

Bungie Documents.

Seriously though. Bungie let the guys from F.S.R. internally test the Halo 3 Beta, I wonder if that means they are trying to cater to the nerd-core-rap-scene?

As you can see in the first few clips that Ske7ch is there and so is Frankie and they're playing the Halo 2 BETA.
Also, in the next clips Walshy (mlg pro) is there playing the beta of Halo 2. Then I see an MLG banner.. What does this mean? Bungie knew MLG would be into Halo 2.
