People are talking about how many rings it would take to blanket our Galaxy. Where does it state that Halo was in our Galaxy, I thought we did a blind jump and we didn't know where we were in some random Galaxy. Help me if I have missed something here. If Halo is in our Galaxy tell me where this was stated.

" And Halo no longer presented a threat to Earth. " (First Strike)

Gee, it has to be in our system in order to present a threat no doesn't? Also

" In a forgotten corner of the galaxy. " (Game Stock 2001)

That seems to imply our galaxy doesn't it? Also Bungiie has said many other times that it is ours. Another interesting fact. The UNSC has yet to get out of our galaxy in the Halo story, so obviously it is in ours.Eat that smartass

Not that I can really answer you question . . . but I know of few scifi's in which ppl travel to different galaxies. Certainly not a blind jump (there's too much empty space if we look at the whole universe. How'd you end up with anything nearby?) Human tech isn't that good in Halo! (nor covenant tech for that matter) to make a "blind" jump and end up in another galaxay in a "short" amount of time. Oh, and to ruin some story for you, it wasn'tn a "blind" jump actually: cortana had monitored Covenant networks and noticed that a battle group had discovered a ring structure of interest. I know I'm not providing very good reasoning here: but trus7 us: its this galaxy ;)

By blind jump, they mean, pick a ranodm direction and travel for a few hours, that wouldnt push them that far, they dont jump, they just travel.

Also this is the earth we know, as at some point during fall of reach it mentions civil war america.

Also to repeat everyone else, cortana took a risk and tried to overlay patterns from a rock over a star chart and picked the most important symbol, and jumped to the nearest sytem, so it wasnt technically blind.

might i also point out to the second poster, that halo has an effective range, when using the amplifiers that you blow up with your shields on two betrayals, of 25,000 light years, so it doesnt have to be in system to be a threat, get your info right before you correct someone.
