Very active in all my groups :  27%
(7 Votes)
I visit each group at least once a day:  12%
(3 Votes)
I'm active in about half of my groups:  27%
(7 Votes)
I visit about half of my groups once a day:  15%
(4 Votes)
I'm not active at all:  19%
(5 Votes)
Total Votes: 26

It's been a while since I've been on Bungie.net because of certain reasons. However I went through my groups yesterday and I found that 90% of them were inactive even some of the ones with 100+ members had no one posting in them. So I'd just like to see how many people are actually part of groups and are very active. Take a look at chapter founders for example. Anyways any input would be nice since I'm thinking of reviving an old group.

I check mine at least once a day. But usually no one responds to what I said or there's no activity at all.

OMG - Gaming for the fun of it in the UK and Europe

I spend much more time in private groups than the public forum. I think it's because I've never really got over the loss of Zanzibar.

its like a large force of win going through fusion, thus creating a chain reaction of a huge asplosion of win destroying any fail within its awesomeness.

Mainly 2 of them.

Yeah private groups allow a considerably large amount of freedom on content. Zanzibar is still there its just inaccessible. If you know the forumid you could still look it up but you'd get one of those don't have sufficient permissions to view errors.

Don't send me group invites.

I'm very active in one of my 9 groups.

In the others. Not at all.

You know it. The Axis of Incompetence is alive and well. Stompin' the competition.

(which, at this point, we had to use the crickets.. Hence the stomping.)

I visit at least 1 group (out of about 10) once a day, when I remember.. Meh. I hardly use 'em. They're usually very temporary things. (Like the Pimps at Sea RPG group, I used that one for the first month or so.)

The problem is that groups with too specific of purposes (almost all of them) only warrant a visit from its users when those users want to contribute to that purpose. So the Seventh Column League group will only be visited by those ready to play a match or see the standings. Because of this and the nature of groups as being out of the way of the main site, people don't really visit much. And actually, even when users do visit groups frequently, they tend to just glance and go away if there aren't any new topics. And because people won't create topics unless they both visit the group forum and are interested in contributing to the group's purpose, not many new threads will be created after the group purpose has become old and well-known.

In other words, nothing happens.

Mourne not your comrades who must dwell / too strong to strive -
Within each steel-bound coffin of a cell, / Buried alive;
But rather mourne the apathetic throng / The cowed, and the meek -
Who see the world’s great anguish and its wrong / And dare not speak.

To be honest, I'm hardly active at all in any of my groups. I used to love them, but most of the groups I visited never really recovered from the downtime.

To be fair, I'm equally at fault, since I don't visit as often as I could.

  • 01.09.2008 8:51 PM PDT

I only belong to one group but I try to be active in it at least once a day. The only downside is that of all the people in the group there are only about five of us that post on a ''normal'' basis. That is kind of sad since we have 178 members.

  • 01.09.2008 9:18 PM PDT

I joined most of my groups when they were on the decline. I'm happy to say that some of them seem to be still kicking around though!!

As for specific groups... I've got different groups for different moods, so I check about a 4th of them at any one time.

I try to participate daily, but i am only in two groups, making that an easily manageable feat.

Who knew that our incompetence would be so great, that it would keep us from ever playing an actual match?

You think it got what it takes to be..?.

God forbid you send me one of those I was checking for cool gamers and saw you messages too, I will scream to the top of my lungs and smash this damn screen/BlackBerry to pieces! You've been warned -_-

I have Xbox Live so though I try visiting the groups every day, XBL is more fun.

There is but one group that I visit on a regular basis, one of the few remaining chapters that has retained its activity. 'Tis a pity to see the decay...

  • 01.10.2008 1:58 PM PDT

Even though some of my group members are in a different time zone, I still try to be active.

  • 01.10.2008 2:35 PM PDT

I am second in command of a 530+ member group. Very active, we get a lot of post everyday.

  • 01.10.2008 2:39 PM PDT

Probably not as active as I should be. I try to visit all of them semi-regularly, but most of my time here is spent in the public boards.

Others mention this a lot: groups aren't really the grand and well-integrated part of the community that they once were. I've only had an active profile here for around 8 months, but I know that groups were formerly a lot more pimped out and a lot more of an integral part of the bungie.net general public than they are currently.

If somebody actually took the time to sit down and compile a list of the greatest travesties of all time, I don't think that Chapter Founders would be on it, but it would probably be somewhat close to the rough vicinity of the neighborhood.
