Alright, so I'm just sitting here. I think to myself, "I want to see the Dream Theater concert again", so I go into my bag and open my DVD case for the appropriate concert. Now the DVD was held in place by a tight plastic ring, so I have to tug a bit to get it out. Next thing I hear is a dull, snap. I thought these were durable! I am so unhappy.

*Points and laughs*

Don't know your own strength do you...anyway your supose to press down on the ring and pull the cd out.

It happens. Those things can be packed pretty tight.

It's not one of those press-down things. Now back to crying...

I s'pose I could watch the Manowar concert now.

[physics nerd explination] Everything has a breaking point. Your method of taking out the DVD just happened to be the best stress-causing method, bending. DVDs are a "hard" plastic, therefore their "plastic" range is very small (the breaking point is right after the yield point), which makes them brittle. [/physics nerd explination]

I used to get a whole bunch of those AOL CDs and throw them around. They can be quite hard to break. But I wasn't even putting half the force into taking it out. I'm going to file a lawsuit, or cry more. Whatever comes naturally.

Well, if you lived in America as I do, lawsuit would come naturally.

*shakes fist at frivolous lawsuits*

I would do the same thing, it was a lot of fun, and became the highpoint of my month for awhile. Then they stopped sending them to me. So I went into a deep depression.

Yield Points do exist, you're obviously not familiar with a stress/strain diagram.
