Yes, I am a hypocrite, and I'm sorry. I really do mean well, but I'm not running on all cylinders.

Everytime someone buys a copy of Halo 2 Vista, a puppy dies.

Last week I bought a GeForce 8600 GT, and today I bought a quad-core Intel computer with each core @ 2.4 Ghz. I installed H2V. Stil sucks. Choppy movement, unresponsive controls. I totally give up on this POS game.

What? My single Core AMD 64 3500+ and 1.5 Gigs of DDR1 ram and Same vid card plays it smooth as Glass. Very Strange. But hey Let me know how Cryisis does if you play it.

Crysis doesn't run that great either. On medium it's like 30-40 FPS until the fighting starts, then when there are a few enemies on screen it gets pretty bad.

I heard 8600s weren't all that good. My friend has one and Crysis ran as well on his system as it did on yours. Halo 2 is just Halo 2.

I thought you got your refund for this game already.

I have a 7600GT and a 2.2GHz Dual-Core. Halo 2 runs even better for me now then it ever did, it's incredibly playable, very little lag.

Why you bought an 8600GT I'll never know but for just a little more you could have gotten an HD2900GT. Not 8800GT spec, but still better.

I have nothing to explain why my 7 Series card is outperforming your 8 series card (except in Crysis) but be sure to check your driver settings, and make sure the drivers are set to optimize for multiple cores.

The 8600's are just late 7 series cards with DX10. That is why.

Well When I got the card, it was new and the only Cheap DX10 Card besides the 8500. And of course I was a fool to think I would need DirectX10 this soon and and it doesnt look much better than Dx9

If I Could do it again, I would have gotten an Nvidia 7900 or a 7950 :|

I love music, and I want to learn all of the Halo Trilogy music. Please! Give me the sheet music!

Yeh, t;s true about the 7 series. My 7950 GT KO (on a quad core and 4 gigs o' RAM) runs Gears of War on max settings and gets about 40-60 fps almost all the time. I'd say the performance is just barely under an 8800, unless you're going for something like Crysis. Plus, if you do want to play Crysis go win the lottery.

Update: I'm getting Crysis tomorrow because I believe it will be fine with some med-high settings and I just want to experience the game. I'll let you know how the performance is on low, med and high ASAP.

Here you will need this to help you get your foot out of the back of your throat, looks llike its in there pretty deep. And what is that on your face? Egg?! *hands Kim a washcloth*

no, the performance of an 8800 is quite a bit more than any 7 series card hands down. the 8600 series is another story however. The 8800 GTX would run circles around your card.

H1 and Halo Custom edition name: madkiller92
xfire:madkiller92

I have a dual core not quad and geforce 8600gt and halo 2 highest swetting res and anti alising with no lag, and crysis? no atni alising at medium settings no lag. my core duo is 2.2Ghz and i can play latest games with no lag. make sure u got windows vista and direct x 10. Idk about how h2v isn't working. It makes no sense to me. Bad luck and low ram and bad soundcard? ram and soundcard affect speed, and shockikingly for me sound cards can make better graphics!
I played cryisis demo with 2gb ram nvidia gefice 8600 and 2.20 ghz processor with medium setting no lag. cyrsis dosen't have the realalistic stuff unless u get a nvivdia geforce 8800 with minimum 512 vram. crysis at highest has the real life stuff, the stuff u notice, i can run at very high! just with very high lag.
and crysis dosen't support 64-bit pc or sli graphics.

Yeah well that's where you better never give anyone computer advice again.

We all know taping 2 radeon 9000s together is just as good as using a radeon 18000 right? It's just basic math.

I heard that most programs wont run efficiently on multiple cores unless it is specifically designed to take advantage of that technology.

While I haven't had any problems with controls, I have noticed a multitude of glitches I failed to notice in the Xbox version, however I still appreciate the somewhat superior graphics and physics, especially taking account that it is but a mere port.

Of course, and everyone knows about the cooling properties of duct tape.
