Thats Right I Was Banned For Watching The Webcams Too Much!Combat Arms - X647"He who'd walk a mile just to hold an empty hand, knows what it means to be a wealthy man."
Skin This Place Alive...

I know how to submit to the news...I take a lot of time to make sure things are done right when I do.
I want to know if the news I submit actually gets "reviewed" or if it is just rejected after a quick glance.

Im not saying people at bungie are being slackers..Im just wondering why we don't see more "member generated" news articles.
Is the community just that bad at writing that almost everything gets denied or are people just not submitting stuff?

The End

‘The conscious is cancerous if allowed to linger’

"Even if you're on the right track, you'll get run over if you just sit there."

Member news . . . I have seen it once but it was about another site submitted by a member. The member was part of the site and the site was some kind of major fanclub.

Other than that there seems to never be any member news. I highly doubt Frankie and Lukems have the time to read through member articles so I am sad to say it but I suspect news is glanced at by title. If the title sounds interesting they may take a glance but it is a long shot anything will happen.

Perhaps they need somebody to look through news articles, send the best ones (in their opinion) to the gold text crew to review and then submit or reject. It would be a volunteer job but it could work.

Mostly, it's all just bad or worthless news. Community member News has been accepted before, I should know, back in 05 I think it was, stosh accepted one of my entries. It has to be something that really is front page news and written like it was meant to be. More than a few community members have submitted news and had it accepted, just not so much in the past 6 or more months.

I submitted JaF's Seventh Show awhile back. I figured that was worth some attention.. But uh..

You're looking at the wrong thing. "Posted By" is who posted it. If a member wrote it, it says "So-And-So Writes:".

So, actually, plenty of member's have submitted news.

I still only count two.

I just hate having to search the forums for news when I could be reading it on the front page.

Twitter | Nothing

You are not looking in the right place for member news. All news is posted by someone who has Admin or Master Ninja status. Member news is the same, it is posted by an Admin or Master Ninja but will say Insert Member Name Here Writes:...etc. I know they publish news stories because I have personally had a few posted. I guess there hasn't been any member news that was front page material or maybe the guys have been busy around the holiday period to check all the submitted articles. The stories I got published were by KPaul when he was working at Bungie. But that was part of his job so thats understandable.

EDIT: Zag beat me to it...the jerk!

EDIT 2: I just checked the news archive. If you go to about page 8 on the news archive, the time period when KPaul was working on Bungie.net content, you will see a lot of member submitted news.

Ya, there WAS a lot of member news...i liked it...I miss kp's stuff.

I like to submit news about new halo/bungie content/merchandise, but it never seems to go through.

Just recently I submitted stuff about the Halo 3 Rocker Chair @ CES '08, and about a new messenger bag bing sold.
I want people to know..and when I put it in the forums, it gets bumped off the page to fast.

Maybe we could have member news separate from the bungie official news?

It IS as bad as you think and they ARE out to get you.

Member news as in overall group news, community projects news, would be cool. Then all these stickies and links all around the place could be grouped together in one convenient spot.

I haven't even tried ever. I don't think anything I have to say is that important.

-Quaere verum.

Got a report? Use the report tool or send a pm.
Chairleg Productions presents: 'Console Wars' and 'Games as Art?' (also on Halo Waypoint).

I guess it's partly due to time restraints and partly due to strictly controlling which news goes where and is posted by whom.
