Did you guys read this

"Some of the original maps that I played long ago are now barely recognizable due to a big overhaul in the graphics and design departments along with the addition of refined HUD elements, additions to the UI and even some new goodies that I dare not mention."

Does this mean that some of the original multiplayer maps are returning in halo 2?

I do hope so!

JUICE!

Chris Butcher is always good for some juice, and he fails to disappoint this week:

"Luke (Timmins) has our proximity voice in which is awesome. my favorite uses of it are in order:

1. To thank dead foes for giving me their shotguns
2. Next time I’m fighting them, to ask them if my weapon maybe looks a little familiar
3. When I’m stalking someone with a shotgun, call out their name and watch them stop and look around in puzzlement
4. To run up behind someone, yell “BOOM!” and then a second later pull the trigger."

THAT IS FREAKIN AWESOME

Proximity Voicing alters the volume of the voice depending on how far away you are from the person hearing it. It may also add noise and other audio effects if there are obstructions between you to create echos and the like.

Now you see why I'm squealing like an anime school girl? *grins*

No... He is talking about maps from Halo 2 that he's played long ago (in H2's development) that has recently been polished... He's talking about H2 maps

So if you are far away from someone else, that person will hear your voice through his headset, but your voice will sound farther away?

I want to hear my teammates speak CLEARLY, cause its hard enough already to understand them through the headset

CheckerPoint. I would assume that on top of that we have a radio function. It all depends on how they've set things up. Maybe there are options since radio has no use during an everyman for himself slayer.

Yeah i'd expect the voice to work quite well. You'd have a Radio for all you teammates, so no matter how far away you are, they can still hear you. But with enemies they can only hear you if you are near to each other on the level... its like shouting rather than the radio.

How many times have people hidden behind a teleport entrance on blood gulch, sidewinder for someone to come through, only to just miss punching them on the back?! They carry on running, you run too, but can't catch up cos u run the same speed... Now just shout at them, "BEHIND YOU!" or as frankie suggests "BOOM!", they'll slow down, turn around, and ur ready with a shotgun... to the face :).
