So theres this new radio station in town, ok? its called Bob FM (wich is clearly just title that tries to make it sound like youve known them for years...) and everyone is tuning to it. in 3 months its already one of the biggest stations in my city!

Why does this offend me you ask? Because theres a station called FM 96, wich IS the best rock station in my city. They play the rock you'de hear on a regular station, and rock from beginning artists. Its a station that helps bands spread thier music and become famous. They also support all the local concerts. Thanks to them we get bands like OLP, Guns and Roses, Sum 41, Matt Good, Alexisonfire, and many, many more. Bob FM just playes the same repeditive "good" songs over and over... ya know, the songs you always regognize, like back in black by AC/DC, Stuck in the moment by U2, and every other catchy, famous song that guarentee's them listeners. They never play anything new, and thier "rock rides" are always the same.

FM 96 has been doing its thing since before i was born, and its probably the best station ive heard across Canada (despite the frequent and annoying radio add's), so you can tell why im so pissed at Bob FM and how its getting all the listeners that are 30+ in age. They also buy TV add's wich suck ass but get the message across that "we play your favorites because we want CA$H! screw innovative and creative!"

im really pissed, because FM 96 is the best thing (musically) to happen to my city, aside from Kitty, the first all female death metal band to make it big, and thier loosing all thier listeners. dam you bob, wherever you are!

and with all this said, i bid you goodnight.

there is a great radio station down in my ....town. It is full of the best rock.In fact the motto is "were not afraid to play anything. we just dont think you should have to sit through all the bull-blam!- to hear the rock you really want." It has great DJ's that are very funny.

I listen to the radio alot. I hate this one station, JackFM, "We play what we want!" well screw you! I dont want to listen to the Police! I want the rock bands!
The motto isnt very consumer appealing, it should be "we play what you want".

If you ever come to Chicago pack alot of good CD's, our stations blow. Except for 97.9 The Loop. They're pretty good.

Hmmmm... Why don't you just buy/download songs of the music type you like? Radio is inconsistant, and even the best stations will take a turn for the "worse" (aesthetically) in order to make more money. I have a feeling that because of BobFM, the other station will probably become more like it in order to get better ratings... and you'll lose your music. So stock up electronically and physically while you can, before our -blam!- economy fails and prices rise and free MP3s become even harder to obtain legally.

Heh, my favorite station turned into a country station (damnit!)... How I loathe them now.

I don't listen to the radio or watch TV nowadays.

Instead, I waste my life away meditating to the resonant hum of eternity and salvation.

uh... because if everybodies listening to it, FM 96 will become obsolite and will be changed (or bought out) and Bob FM will become bigger and more powerful.

Yes... but if the public shows that they enjoy listening to music played by Bob FM, then shouldn't your radio station appeal to the majority?

The world doesn't revolve around you, and neither does revenue, unfortunately.
