Long live the Last Refuge!

not on high detail (I don't think so atleast), don't buy it, buy the nivida geforce 7800 you will get a better gaming qualty and will most likely be able to run it on highest setings

You are so stupid. The 7800 is old school DirectX9. Even though H2V doesnt support DX9, you need to get ready for DX10. Anyway, I think the 7800 costs more and probably wont give you a significant boost
OK, even if there are not many DirectX10 games, its still way overpriced like Master Kim said. You know what? -blam!- it. Go with the 8800GT.

lol... How many DX10 titles are there on the market right now that offer a big benefit over their DX9 counterparts? Hmm.. I can think of one, Call of Juarez, the DX10 part looks much better then the DX9 version of it. Oh and there's something else too, DX10 coded titles run significantly slower then their DX9 counterparts. You could run a game in DX10 version on an 8800GTX and get 35fps, or run it in the DX9 version and get 60, with very very little improvment in IQ when running in DX10. So, you have two options: Get a mid-range DX10 card, in which you would have to lower the settings if you wanted to play in DX10, and it would actually run slower in DX10, or run it in DX9, have the settings on high, and run it faster. The second choice seems obvious when there's little difference in IQ between DX9, and 10, right? Well, besides the fact that this generations mid-range products, aside from the HD3850, are all very, dissapointing. You'd actually be better off getting a X1950 Pro, or 7900GT than an 8600GT. Who cares if it can do DX10? There's no reason to use it when there's no difference in Image Quality over it's DX9 counterpart, when it's DX9 version runs faster, too.

First of all, the 7800 line is way overpriced right now. Don't even think about buying one. The 7900 line is hundreds of dollars cheaper, and trumps the 7800 line in every single aspect. If you're going to go with a last-generation card, you should get something from the 79xx line. By looking on pricegrabber, however, you can see that nothing in the 7 series is worth buying anymore. That being said, I think Halo 2 will run fine on the 8600 GT, but not on high and with 1440 x 900 resolution. You might have to bump one of those down.

I donth think you (Madkiller) can run at 1920x1200 at High with 4xAA with your 8600. Unless, you overclocked the hell out of it
