Heyyo,

GOD, I hope there will be more patches... hopefully one that'll intergrate HaloCE into HaloPC. Oh stop whining dial up users, just get someone with high speed internet and a cd burner to burn you a copy of the patch if it's big. $5 ain't the death of you, and the outcome would be better for all.

Right now? HaloPC's in shambles I say. No North America Bungie Servers, netcode problems, and lots more crashing... ending HaloPC updates on v1.06 would be disasterous... especially if they hope people will wanna buy Halo2 for PC once that 'eventually' comes out cause their Halo1PC experience will be skewerd.

Heyyo,

I never said you had dialup, but there are people on these forums with dial up... btw, you want a good game for dial up? go get Worms Armageddon, or Worms World Party... just get the whole worms series dangit! lol, that was my game before, back when I was on dialup. ;)

Patching is always a pain in the arse. Firstly, we have to patch our own games, which is annoying for those with slow connections. Secondly, in the case of the 1.05-1.06 fiasco (auto-detect failure), we also had to manually download and replace files. Thirdly, for at least 24 hours, dedicated servers all over the world started shutting down to be patched, so you either find an empty Halo lobby or can't connect to those servers who haven't yet updated. Fourthly you get thread after thread, post after post complaining "I can't find the patch" "The patch screwed up my game" "I can't find/connect to servers". And I'm not even gonna go into Service Pack 2. So basically, since patches never seem to make any difference anyway other than to maybe 0.01% of players with odd hardware, pray for as few patches as possible. They just cause disruption.

I'm with Skippy on this one. Every new patch just seems to cause more problems. I don't know if it is just luck, but I just haven't had any trouble with HaloPC. Any games with lag I'm in, it is always been related to "ping" rates. Games where everyone is under 100 are usually great!

i hate to agree with skippy, but he's right. also, they fixed the auto detect thinggy, so...yeah
anway, even though it is kinda anoying, i hope there are more patches, hopfully a good one soon, so's the game will be kinda less sucky
