I don't give a damn about any armor period.

Ya its cool to have variations, but its not the whole world.

Anyways Pezz's rule of 30 day bans isn't applied anymore. It was alittle harsh.

1 more question. Why are we allowing MLG - Anti-MLG discussions now?

If' ya ask me(*and no one ever does).... this is all pretty stupid.... I've seen the armor, and it's ok.

Frankly, I'm a little disappointed that it's completely symetrical... I was kinda hoping for a jacked-up, crooked, and out of proportioned lookin' helmet.... kinda like the one Hasselbeck is wearing in the current Bungie Update ... yeah... that'd be sweet..

Noitch!

I say if you don't care about it, then don't post about, don't look at it, and don't think about it. If someone makes a thread about it then report it like you're suppose to do. We don't want to see your complaint or whatever about it because it doesn't really help.

There was a period where 90% of the threads in the Halo 3 forum were about the Recon armour. I am not exaggerating. It became the recon armour forum.

Can we start banning ppl replying to these threads with any rude comments?

3 days would be good.

If I remember correctly from a post ironically from Recon, we are allowed to say Recon. I mean go ahead, it's all about the context in which you use it. The only thing you can't do is ask for Recon. People just think that with the black listing of people asking for Recon that they can't say it.

It happened like this:

Person A wanted recon armor and made a thread about it. 10 minutes later, person B makes a thread about, not knowing the person A had made the same thread 10 minutes ago. This is followed by person C 20 minutes later, who is in turn followed by person D, E, F, and G making threads about it simultaneously.

As this is happening, person Γ, Δ, Θ, Λ, Ξ, and Σ are yelling at person A-G wondering how they could not have seen threads 1, 2, 3, and 4 about this which had disappeared off the first page several minutes ago.

Finally, mods Ђ, Є, Њ, and Ж show up and clean house, blacklisting all members of the Greek alphabet for being dickwads to the other members. This still happens, but thankfully not as often due to the harsh rules about it.

The moderator that was originally behind that decision has now left (Shishka). What the moderators do now is under their discretion. Personal bias aside, I've never been a big fan of MLG discussions anyways because it almost always turns into a flame-war, some of the times at the fault of the "anti-MLG" camp.

It's not talking about it, it's the fact that these damn threads (pardon my language) are made 10 times a day.

It's annoying :-/

Understatement of the year there :-)

Thinking about it logically there was always going to be a large fuss about the recon armour, large proportions of the halo community are statwhores and children trying hard to impress. The ninjas did the right thing by making it well known that it was not allowed to talk about it in multiple threads, the message did eventually get across. As annoying as the forums were at the time its hard to really blame the spam posters for wanting to know, the majority of them were new and genuinely wanted to be included in the (then) hunt. What made me extremely agitated were the posters purposefully misleading these enthusiastic individuals.

You all know what im talking about:
.'Im close to getting recon! i just need 3 players to join me'
^The above thread would then fill for ten pages with responses, OP never returning.

.'My brother and i have it, its so shiny'
^fills with easily fooled masses asking generic questions

.'I have it, keep refreshing my page to see it. Bungie.net is really slow'
^Obedient people continued to do so even after the thread was locked.

Oh I do believe you, but what I don't get is why it was surprising that it would be any other way.

Before, it was just "Recon = ban", because nearly every thread was "WHY DON'T WE GET RECON?!" or "CAN I HAS RECON?!". If you have a legitimate thread that isn't you trying to get Recon or complain stupidly about Recon, it'll be allowed.

Thanks for clearing that up. Glad I wasn't too off base with what I said.

It comes as no surprise that people are most intrigued by what they cannot have. The "recon mania" is a result of this natural phenomenon. As new users become part of the Halo 3 community everyday they become aware of the coveted recon armor and begin to ask questions about it. There is no end.

Recon armour threads are like bacteria. Whenever one comes into existance in the right climate and conditions it will split and create two and then those two will split and create four and then those four will split into eight. And so on until ananti-bacterial solution, ie: evilcam, pezza or achronos is applied to the contaminated areas of the host.

how does one interested on attempting to earn recon armor send screenshots/clips to the bungie community and how do we assertain the abilty to do so? Another question is, how does one get something on bungie favorites...?

Halo 3 File Forums
As for Recon Armor, you don't ask to get it and you don't try to get it.
For Bungie Favorites: You don't get something on Bungie Favorites, Bungie does. Once again, don't ask or try.
I tried to keep this is as short as possible.

Basically - you get the recon armour by not trying. It's like becoming a mod. The second it becomes apparent that you WANT the armour, you are struck from the list forever.

So, for the good of everyone who has, is, or will post in this thread - I will lock it. Thank me if you get the armour.
