XP or 64? I know games and apps sooner or later will run 64bit, but right now is it worth it to get a 64bit processor, or just stick with a 32? I'm trying to decide between Athalon xp's and 64's, and the xp's are much cheaper.

Heyyo,

Athlon64's are obviously top knotch. If the price gap isin't big, I suggest it over a AthlonXP. Even in just 32bit mode (stuff like Windows 98, XP, 32bit linux...), the Athlon64 still outpreforms the AthlonXP, it does like, extra since it's designed for 64bit It runs like 32bit + 8bit, so that's cool. ;)

I don't think the preformance gap is huge game-wise, so just a norm AthlonXP will do fine too.

well you should get an amd 64 with hypertransport. this is an amd tech that uses a super freakin high front side bus, like 1600 mhz or something

way fast.
but make sure you have a mobo that supports hypertransport too or theres no point
