Okay for me and several other people these ideas are old, but for most of you, maybe even some Bungie staff, these are new. I'll explain the original ideas first and then upgrades to your old favorites.

Stalker- This is a Covenant scout unit. Approx. 5' 2" in height, has a purple-gray skin color, two dull blue eyes, five fingers each with 4 inch talons(meant for climbing walls), and a really nasty temperment. They are thin and agile. Their purpose to to scout out the battle field from a safe distance, snipe, and to kill silently with their claws. On their arms are mounted plasma weapons that fire twin bolts of red plasma or they can carry a sniper rifle for long range shots. They generally prefer the dark and are more patient then any other alien. If they land on you, they will wreck you. Watch the walls and ceiling as they can climb and crawl along them really freaking fast.

Zealot- This is a personal favorite. It is roughly 6' 5" tall, bipedal, its entire body is encased in a ritualistic body armor that shows no flesh what so ever. These are the hidden body guards of the Covenant Prophet class. Most Prophets don't even realize exactly how many of these such guards protect them. Their species is so rare they are never made mention to the normal troops All the warrior caste knows is that they are Covenant and are not to be shot. On the Zealot's wrists are mounted plasma blades that can be retractable when need be, on their left arm above the blade is a tower shield that is optional and not all too different from that of a Jackal, but they also have full body shielding stronger than that of a Black Elite on Legendary mode. They are speak all Covenant and primary human languages. They are smart, as fast as a Spartan and have no mercy. They are trained in every Covenant weapon and are the best of the best.

Now for the old classics.

I have two ideas for the Hunters.
1. Is to make two new ranks for them. A red armored Hunter and a Black veteran type. The red armored one has his back covered with a plate of armor so you can only hit the little spot in his throat and in his stomach. Also the Black Hunter has that spot covered as well as his stomach so the one hit kill only works in his neck.

2. New gun. The Red Armored Hunter will recieve an upgrade to the Fuel rod gun. It fires blue, hotter, plasma instead of the old green. So the Chief dies even quicker once hit. For the Veteran Hunter a three round burst of the blue plasma is given so it has a better chance of hitting.

Those are my half cocked ideas. Please give suggestions or come up with imporvements/ flaws in my ideas. Heck post some of your enemy concepts as well. Anything goes as far as this post is really concerned....just keep it on Halo.

They're okay. I doubt any of them wll make it to the game though since they are so far into the development there is no going back.

On the Zealot: the Prophets already HAVE bodyguards: the Brutes. End of First Strike, it says so.

The retractable Plasma Sabre may prove useful: the Chief may wield it upon the original bearer's death, like the Jackal's energy bracers.

On the Hunter ideas:

Thhe whole reason their back / stomachs / necks become exposed in gameplay is because when not aware of any hostiles, they stand 12 feet tall, necks extended to like 2.5 feet, and backs straight. whe they're in combat, they hunch over and sheathe their necks. if there were back plating, they couldn't stand upright. They couldn't hunch over if there were stomach armor. and their necks - their EYES are in that sliver between their forehead plating and the protrusion of armor that comes up from their chests.

Bungie's got it covered.

Good imagination Hikaru, your ideas a pretty cool. I think if Bungie had add another character though, one the best choices would be the Zealot because they could use him in the later levels with Prophets and other Covenant High Caste. The Stalker is a bit too much like the Jackal, so there wouldn't be much use for him in the Halo 2 storyline.
The first idea for the Hunters was neat, but the second was a bit too far out there. A Hunter has too hunch over really far just to fire a single green plasma shot from its cannon...so firing multiple shots at once wouldn't be very realist since the gun would overheat and injure the Hunter, and the Hunter would be knock over from the force of the weapon.
Good ideas overall though.

It says they are Temple guards, not Prohpet body guards. Remember the high prophet of Truth's Body guards were offended when Tartarus, a Brute, came close. So I doubt Brutes are the body guards. And I forgot to mention that the Zealots can pop in and out of Stealth as they so choose.

The High Prophet of Truths body gaurds are actually the Elite Special Forces, making the Zealot now almost useless, since the Prophets will use their highly trained Elites instead.
Either way though, their just his ideas, and we obviously can't expect Bungie to use them.

But they did say something about a new Covenant unit that would give the player a run for his money. And that is exactly what the Zealots are designed to do. Plus the thing is they are more of a true secret service. Sort of a Covenant Spartan program. No one sees them or really knows to much about them. They are just there, extremely zealous and loyal to the Covenant cause. Real badasses. Capable of a lot.

@ Hikaru:

Interesting. I just recently read FS for the second time, and may have gotten some wires crossed. Extremely observant, aren't we, Hikaru?

I personally LOVE the Hunters. They're my favorite enemy. I just despise how, in any difficulty, one pistol round to the back will stop them dead. Works on their stomachs, too, with their first up-swing when they charge. If you find the cool little tunnel in Silent Cartographer upon activating the security override, and slowly creep up on the Hunters posted outside the cliff-face entrance, you witness them standing around, spikes pointed down, necks elongated, and backs covered. it's kinda cool.

Plus, when they die, their necks stick out and flop around.

I love the Hunters.

I also kinda like your wall-crawling ideas for the Stalker. Bungie mentioned the Halo 2 AI as being able to colaborate and join together and climb over obstacles and up walls.

Cool stuff.

al of your ideas are pretty cool, and sound really innovative and challenging. But i cant help but think of the zealot. it looks and sounds very similar to the zealot from starcraft. witht he ritual armour, the mounted plasma blades on the wrists.

Actually think more of a black and red armored type creature that has armor similar in design, but more Covenant-ish, of the original concpet sketchs of the Master Chief's armor. Actually make that alot more Covenant-ish.

Interesting concepts...especially the different ranks for the Hunters. Maybe you could write a fan-fic and apply some of your ideas to your stories?

I think a flying covenant would be cool. like one that has these huge wings, and uses long range guns. It can fly high and faster than a banshee. And it could also land and perch for the sake of sniping and hiding. It would force you to watch your radar cause they could like fly up behind you and attack with big sharp nasty pointy teeth.
