You people have just sent my sides into orbit. A bunch of MLG try hards sucking the dick of some supposed pro half the thread hasn't even heard of. Classic.

When we sign in there is a link that allows us to sign in with enhanced security. I do it, but I do not see any difference at all. Does anybody know what the difference is and how much more secure it actually is?

Does it use https:// instead of http://?

That'd be my guess. It's just a more secure connection so there's no chance of someone intercepting. (Something like that, I'm not huge on security networking expertise)

Trying something once will increace your chances of success, because you tried it. Try someting twice, and your chances increase yet again - seeing as you've done it. Try something a few thousand times, and your chances of success is exponentially increased; this increase would likely provide success every time

That would be it. I do it every time I log into Bungie.Net too. It is basically just there to prove that you are actually signing in; and that it is secure.

Late Edit: I would also like to say, that if you are trying to be as safe as possible, I would recommend downloading this. It has helped me locate fraud sites dozens of times, and still continues to do so; hell even caught a few phishing sites with it. I would recommend it if you are trying to be as secure as possible.

nice job but one thing about https:// it isn't recommended to use bungie.net with https in because it slows down your searches and sometimes it will freeze your computer.

Hrm, I've never experienced any of this myself. Although, just to add one thing, when you sign in using the enhanced security, it won't take you to the secure Bungie.Net, it will only sing you into Windows Live using the enhanced security.

Enhanced security provides an additional level of protection when you sign into a Windows Live site or service. Enhanced security can be used to help identify spoofing (Falsely claiming to be a legitimate business's website in an attempt to get you to provide your private information.) or phishing (Falsely claiming to be a legitimate business to send you to a fake website or scam you into giving out private information.) scams. If you suspect that a site is attempting to obtain your account information, send a report to Microsoft.

To determine if you are signing in to the real Windows Live ID sign-in page :

* Confirm that all saved e-mail addresses or display pictures you expect are displayed.
* Confirm that the web address begins with https://login.live.com. If the address doesn't begin with
this, click Use enhanced security and check the address again.
* Look for the lock icon. The location of the lock can vary. Windows Internet Explorer displays the
image in the bottom right-hand corner of the browser window. Other browsers, such as Firefox,
display the lock in the address box.

Additional Notes On Subject :

* If you don't choose to use enhanced security, Windows Live ID will use the standard security
   setting.
* Once you choose to use enhanced security, Windows Live ID uses cookies (A small text file,
created by a website, that stores information on your computer) to remember your preference for
   that computer.
* Use standard security for better performance on a slow Internet connection.
* For more information on how Windows Live ID helps protect your privacy and personal information,
see About Microsoft privacy and security policies.
