I recently made a new gamertag with the name "an egg sammich" and i signed in to check out my stats on that one but later changed my gamertag to "a scrambled egg" but it still says my username is an egg sammich. is there anyway i could change it to make it what my gamertag is?

to do that you'd have to delete your WLID.

Which would in turn delete your gamertag. At least, last time I remember it did this.

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.

There's stil a link to your gamertag. I don't understand the necessity of having the same Bnet username as your gamertag. I have a different gamertag than my username. It wouldn't be worth changing the gamertag back.

Here's what you have to do to solve your problem. Plain and simple as possible... create a new Bungie.net account and make the display name "A scrambled egg." Now you should have two email addresses, one which logs you into your current Bnet account and one that logs you into "A scrambled egg."

Sign into Xbox Live via the Xbox 360 dashboard with your gamertag "A scrambled egg." Once there go to Account Management and select Windows Live ID. From there you want to choose Change Your Windows Live ID. It will ask you for your password and then it will ask you if you have another Windows Live ID to switch it to. Say yes and input the new login information as if you were signing into your Bungie.net account, "A scrambled egg."

It will transfer everything, including your Microsoft Points and there you go. You have performed an action that simply changed your Windows Live ID associated with your gamertag. Basically, you have unlinked your gamertag from your Bnet account, an egg sammich, and then you linked it to your new Bnet account, A scrambled egg. Although you wouldn't technically need an egg sammich any more, you could still use it. On top of that, you will have what you wanted, which is an account that has the same exact display name as your Xbox Live gamertag. If you have any further questions, feel free to send me a private message and I'll be more than glad to help with what I can.

It's just one of those common glitches of the internet / gamiverse.
