Alright, I know we all love Halo with all our brain, but with all this awesome stuff they're putting into the game, does this increse the chance for sometimes super crappy framerate and lag in those huge multiplayer matches? Tell me what you think.

Yeah there's potential for all of that, but I think Bungie has taken steps to straighten it all out.

I don't are what Bungie has to do, as long as it is the best game on Xbox when it is done.

AHHH!!!!, i hope it's not laggy, that's the only thing that really messes me up while shooting the pistol. I'm aim at the same place right, in front of the head. But on XBC i can't shoot the broad side of a barn!!

Thats the worst thing about XBC. You have to lead those shots like a champ, and then when you go to a normal LAN its all wierd again. Or is it normal again? dum dum dum

Damn right, that'd just be retarded if they went to all this work just to have Multiplayer lag extremely. Half of the time we're having to wait for Halo 2 is being used to fix these kinds of problems and stuff.

Nah, I have every faith in Bungie to create a stellar game. I can see a slowdown in framerate, due to the limited processing capabilities of the Xbox. But I'm confident it won't deter from the game's overall badassness(is there even such a word?).

The game's online play will be a different story, though. I can see a bit of lag, unless Microsoft sets up dedicated servers to host games.

Yeah, they'd probably do something like that but I bet they'll try their best to stop any lag from happening, running tests and stuff.

There are 10 kinds of people in the world: those who know binary, and those who don't.

actaully, the upgraded ghaphics using bump mapping use less polygons and thus less processor power to render. thats why there gonna be so much more stuff in the game, theres just that much more open processor power with the improved graphics. all things considered, bumpmapping was an incredible little invention, making better graphics with less power. anyway, bungie has now crammed even more stuff into each and ever scene of the game, just because they can and it will make it that much cooler, and even with all this new and better looking stuff, it still uses roughly the same amount of processor power, which is well within what the xbox can handle. so no there will not be any terrible cases of lag at all. as far as live, thats just like any other game, it depends on your conection and those of the people in ur game. and xbc lags because its a bootleg unofficial program that is riddled with unsecure servers, which while not really threatening in any way, are full of hackers and whatnot, so you'll often find urself fighting people who are unnaturally talented(no matter how good u get,u cant make 30 plasma grenades shoot out the barrel of the shotgun, or make the pistol shoot like the tank for that matter. the wonders of hacking...). this additional and foreign data can slow the games considerably. and its on a foreign server program anyway.

All games lag, Halo 2 will probably lag just as much as most games, I won't care though, as long as I have my split screen it won't be that bad.

Bungie is backed by Microsoft; that alone let's me sleep at night instead of worrying about the lag issues...

As far as the framerate, I have complete faith in Bungie; don't forget that the character models in Halo 2 demand less on the Xbox, which, after seeing the newest screenshot, continues to baffle me

Are you picking on Joey?(sorry if you're not) I know he doesn't need me to fight his battles for him, but he's my friend. People like you (if you are picking on him) make this place lame and crappy for others, stop picking on him an deal with any problem you have, no-one else has a problem with him, so why do you?

I'm afraid of lag issues. Even if it is Microsoft backing them up.

I hope the network code is great, like the one for MGP2 (I know, totally different) hardly any lag at all. Even I can host sixteen players with a "normal" broadband connection.
