I just played TB and I am puzzled by what 343 says in the begininng. "Why hesitate to do something you have already done?" and some other thing about a question you supposedly asked far far in the past..... It could mean Forerunners are Human, or in Halo 2 Mc goes back in time and fires Halo, so 343 is correct in saying that the Mc did fire the Ring. Anyways, I think it means that Halo was fired before, maybe wiping out the Forerunners. Since 343 said that it kills sentient life only so it is possible that Halo activated while the human race has yet to evolve since we are here.... Or maybe it was during the Cretacious period, and dinosaurs have evolved sentience and Halo wiped them out. What is your opinion?

I dunno...It'll prolly be answered in Halo 2...Maybe in a flashback or something. Or maybe it was just 343 going insane because her...i mean his <_< plan failed.

When he said that, I think he was referring to when MC brought the index to the control room.

Or he could've been refering to the 'reclaimer' = master chief thing again.

I have heard many theories on this. Here are just a few:
* Guilty Spark mistakes Master Chief for a Forerunner and simply thinks that he is 'the reclaimer'.

* After many years of being alone Guilty Spark has become deluded. Running lots of simulations of Halo protocols by himself (Firing the defences). He has to have a 'being' to actually activate Halo so 343GS has made a simple being in his simulations so he can run them. After a long time he has slowly become to believe that these simulations were true. By chance the being he created for his simulations resembles Master Chief.

* After being alone for so long he thinks that any Responsible and intelliagent life is 'the reclaimer' (a forerunner).

343 could be thinking that Master Chief has already gotten up to this point, the task is basically done. Why would he hesitate now?

it has been known for a wile that so called "smar AIs" distroy themselves after a peroid of seven years the monitor was over 100 thousand years old techonology may have advanced so far as it would not be seven years but longer so 343GS may be showing side effects of the syndrome setting in he may have mistaked the MC for the person that activated Halo last time that would explain alot
