Actaully, Bungie has not said there will not be, we just havent got any proof that there will be. So basically, its not known yet.

i hope active camo makes it into halo 2 as that isn't too unfair and makes it good for CTF games. not bothered either way about the overshield

i dont think there should be as it gives people unfair advantages

The nice thing about powerups is that they force the action. They also make it easier for a team to go in and "break camp," or take out some campers. Think about playing Chill Out on Halo. How many times have you seen the other team camp the invis room. Its hard to break camp on decent players in that room, especially if they have the rockets. Now, when you pick up the OS in Chill Out, you have a considerably better chance of cracking that room when you go in, because you have the health of almost two Spartans.
Powerups make it easier to control the map, and when you have two good teams going head-to-head, its guaranteed that they'll be fighting to control the powerups. Good teams know that you have to control them, and as a result, a lot of heavy fighting goes down in rooms/areas that contain powerups.
I hope they stay...

I think powerups i just as fair as anything else in the game. All players have an equal chance and choice to go get the powerup. So if someone you see has a powerup and you say thats unfair, your wrong because you just didn't get the powerup first.

Bungie needs to distribute them better. Some of the maps don't work well for ctf because of weapon and power up locations, like chill out. One teams starts near the shotguns and the overshield. That's all that needs to be corrected. Well that and give you better control of the options of having them and the time limit they are on.

I hope that there aren't any powerups in Halo 2. They were -blam!- in Halo 1 only because of the fact that there were people who timed the damn things and sat there and waited for them to respawn just so that they could get them and noone else would be able to.

It wouldn't be a problem if people didn't go out of their way just to get freaking camo/overshield, but that is the problem. Yeah, if you're walking right past it anyway, go ahead and pick it up, but when you just sit there and grab it and wait for it to come back just so that you have it the next time you go into battle, then you suck. If you need the powerups that badly then you won't make it very far, especially on Live, where everyone only guards the rockets and camo the whole damn game.
