what do u mean OTHER two types?

if u mean the other resoultions, then
800x600, means 800 pixels up, 600 pixels across

likewise with 1024x768, or 640x480
the higher it is, the higher the resoultion, and the better your picture will be

(more pixels to draw, equals more lag, or bad FPS)

ok, the lower the setting, the less quality, but the best performance, and the higher the setting, the better quality, but the least performance

Lol. Yeah, basically the resolution is the pixel count. The higher the pixel count, the more demanding it is on your system, but it also produces a much better picture. 800x600 means 480,000 pixels total (800 vertical, 600 horizontal). Max resolution on my monitor is 1600x1200 is 1,920,000 pixels (holy craps!)

Newer graphics cards have the ability to go to that max resolution without lag, but those such as the 9600XT, a great bargain card, can only go to about 1280x960, and at that they lag a bit.

Resolution isn't that important. 800x600 is great, as that is the resolution on the xbox version of Halo. The things that really make the game are the specular, textures, etc. If you can enable those, tweak resolutions until you get very little lag. It's more rewarding to have a low resolution and awesome effects than a high resolution and really bad textures/no specular lighting effects,

Heyyo,

Lol, it's just a random nic he probably came up with, or that his cellmates... err, I mean buddys gave him. :p

Screen rezolution impacts preformance a lot... more than specular lighting? probably.

And the average $box runs at a rez of 512x328 due to most tv's not going higher, and max F/S is 30... and both of those settings are considered ancient onna pc. Our standards are 640x480 and a minimum of 60F/S. ;)
