Heyyo,
No ping means the fool's behind a firewall and/or router and hasn't opened the ports (ports 2302,2303), or your computer has a hard time to ping it and fails to ping but you might still be able to join.
Locked game means it's password protected, and in order to get in the server you need to know the password.
Dedicated Server means that computer isin't running halo, but faking it for multiplayer, means lower pings and smoother online play, always join one if you can. ;)
Well, if you get kicked, it's either:
A. The server autokicks anyone whos ping is too high for a set amount of time (usually 10 seconds at a ping of 250 I think).
B. You try and join, but fail cause the server doesn't get the response from your computer fast enough.
Yeah, HaloPC ain't too dial up friendly. Usually a good RTS or RPG works good on dial up, but FPS are too fast and too much happens for it to work decently all the time.
I reccomend:
- Worms Series (Armageddon, World Party, 3D.. I was uber-good at Armageddon before, used to know the special rope launch trick, and my guys sounded like 'The Rock' from WWE cause I used to watch it, lmao...)
- Command & Comquer Series
- Diablo Series
- Neverwinter Nights Series (bleh, not really my style... I've fallen asleep twice to this game, uninstalled it, and went back to Quake3Arena, lmao, pwnt.. but if you're into slow, Dungesons & Dragons style RPG's this could be for you...)
- Half Life Series (an FPS that works pretty good for dial up, but not many people like dial up, so expect to get kicked from many unfriendly servers...
- Vampires The Masquerade Series (w00t! fun RPG, and special online mods that allow online play for Bloodlines)
So yeah, see what you can find dude. ;)
