I find the flood creepy, I'm fighting them as I type...I mean being able to lose body parts and keep coming at you is just a creepy thought.

I'm not really afraid of them. They're kind of like headcrabs and their vitctims.....just with guns

The flood are most definately a creepy and eerie subject. It is mainly because they give the impression of zombies (fast and strong ones, not like the 1970'2 horror film). Here's reasons why I think the flood are creepy:

* The flood take over bodies. Also the look of the infected bodies. Those large stalks that stick out of the bodies and the way the Human combat form looks like it is decaying.

* When the flood take over bodies, they don't need the things that we consider necessary (heads for example). Two examples are: Elite combat forms, the head just flops back and Human combt forms, you can blow away the abdomen and it will still be standing. I find it very creepy that the thing attacking me doesn't need a head or abdomen to survive.

* They can lose arms and just keep coming. Blow off an arm and they carry on charging.

* They sometimes get back up. You think: "Right, killed that set of flood, now to move onto the next part of the level". Then WHACK! You get smacked over the head from behind.

* The noises they make. Those growling, garlging noises they make sure do make you jump outta your seat! Especially when you don't expect it.

* The exploding forms come from nowhere and drop at your feet. If you're near, you're going to die! Creates a huge amount of panic when one of those hits the floor.

* The small infection forms come at you in huge numbers. You know it takes loads to knock your shields offline and make you vunerable, yet when lots charge round the corner, it makes you determined to get rid of them.

* Sheer numbers of them. Quite easy to kill, yet when lots charge, it makes your heart skip a beat or two.

* The determination of the flood. They won't stop at nothing. One will sacrifice itself and blow you skywards (using a rocket launcher at point black range).

I think the design of the flood is simply a masterpiece. Most games that give a little scare to the player have been designed that way (Resident Evil and Silent Hill etc.). The fact that Halo is a 1st person shooter and isn't at all scary at first (but cool) then the flood are introduced is quite cool.

Simply, no. I find them fun to fool around with, such as getting them to jump of cliffs and shooting off their arms til I have an army of gurgleling freaks behind me, which is quite amusing.
