I made a right sidebar.

@SniperStealth: That is an awesome theme. I think the sidebar's ok as is, and I really like the colors...maybe make the guy in Recon a little larger. Still looks great how you have it.

I've put the believe theme on hold for now and have come up with a new theme. It's the Bungie Fire theme. Here is the first version, I'm a little unhappy with the way the sidebar turned out...

Maybe without the text, or a different text style.. imo, it just doesn't fit.
Text looks perfect to me.

The circle around the ninja needs a little work, otherwise, sidebar is awesome.

Um...header is awesome. I think the ninja heads on the Septagon needs to be removed. Only put one in the top right. Put your text at the bottom. Then maybe add a fire affect to the left part of the header. That's me though.

Also, a little too much drop shadow on the text IMO. More opacity would work.

Ok new rules guys:

Please send me jpgs, psds or tifs ONLY. No more zips. I can't download zips at work anymore.

Email: 7hemes@gmail.com

Everybody should just email me their themes again. Sorry heh.

(the new layout is similar to current layout--but more awesomes)

Group Header: 631px wide (can be any height)
Right Sidebar Image: 256px wide (can be any height)
Forum header image: 902px wide/80px High

You can customize font colors/size, backgrounds, headers---pretty much anything you see on screen. YOU COULD even change the bungie.net grid background or maybe even do something with our header. Have fun and yes eventually I will get you guys a real theme builder. I'm focused on making groups cool again first.

is there a specific tool if so could anyone give me the link that would be awesome

There is no such tool in existence at this time. Just save a local copy of the website and modify the CSS files, or if you don't need to you can just save a copy of the images.

Microsoft Paint + ??? = PROFIT

The theme builder is for privete Groups
what it is is the ability to choose your theme for your group home page as well as the forum.
(stosh is still working on it). We are submitting "themes" so there is more to pick from when editing your groups settings

Hello.

I would love to learn how to make these themes. Good job, guys!

I hope you guys are sending them to the theme email, because I would love to see some of these themes in private groups that I am in.

Subject: Themes: New Update

The themeBuilder version 3.0 (windows .zip) (mac/linux tar)

Visual themeBuilder Guide!. Overviews themeBuilding with Windows Vista + Paint.Net + Firefox 3. Hope some people find it useful. If you have comments/suggestions PM me and let me know. NOTE: While this was made with the last themeBuilder, the new one is the same to work with

The themeBuilder is not an executable/program, but rather a collection of files which emulate bungie.net.
The zip you download contains
-Two html files: These are the different group pages (groupHome.htm is the Group Homepage and groupForum.htm is the group forum page).
-emblem.jpg: The avatar you see at the top of pages in the themeBuilder.
-Two Directories: Static and theme. DO NOT MODIFY ANYTHING IN THE STATIC DIRECTORY!!!! IT IS NOT PART OF THE THEME

the two html files are how you preview your theme. To use them just double click them or drag and drop them into your web browser and you'll see your theme as it appears right then.

The directory theme is where you get to play around. For most of you, all you will have to do to build your theme is to edit the files in the struct_images directory. You simply change the images to be what you want, preview your changes, and repeat this until your theme is ready for submission.

If you know CSS you can do even more. You can edit main.css to your heart's content giving you control over virtually everything on the page and how it appears.

If you have questions/comments either post theme here, in the Theme Builders group, or PM me.

Edit 4: New themeBuilder Version 3.0!!!!

I like, great work Firebird. Great work indeed.

You don't.

  • 03.12.2008 8:47 PM PDT

it's not for making avatars (yet, I'll add that soon(ish) probably). if you want to mess with the avatar it is located at static\halo2emblem.gif (note: it is currently set to Read Only!, a setting you must change to edit it)

Unless "avatar" is actually a code word for something über complex, you don't need anything to make an avatar besides image editing software (MS Paint!)

  • 03.12.2008 8:50 PM PDT

But it would be nice to see your avatar inside a forum page, something not that hard to add. just move the file and rename it. Avatar isn't code (or is it) for super complex. It would just be nice to see your avatar in a mock up before submission.

I have one small question, for either anyone who knows; whether it me Firebird, virus, or someone else. Anyway, how exactly do you make the image appear behind the dark grey area? For example, like this? How the marathon image shows through behind the letters and the dark grey. How exactly do you pull that off? I haven't read too far into programming yet, so it may be something in the CSS files that I overlooked.

Rokit, in the CSS file find
div.group_hub div.group_hub_nav
At the end of it, add
background: url(your_background_image.gif) no-repeat;
So for example, mine looked like
div.group_hub div.group_hub_nav { position: relative; margin: -275px 0 0 0; background: url(your_background_image.gif) no-repeat; }
