I wonder why 'Chief119 wants so much to believe that we're talking about wangs...
Failing being able to project death from wherever I blamn well please, I would like to have the beams spout from the back of my head, then no one would want to sneak up and startle me. I would also like them to be of variable intensity so I can do stuff other than kill- like tickle, or heat up a burrito. I would probably just prefer telekinesis more, though. Heating stuff up is just moving things chaotically, anyway...
Edit: A laser beam can have cool shapes, though. Adding two sine waves that're a quarter-cycle out of phase and a quarter-rotation offset from each other would result in a pretty spiral, I think. Multiplying that sum by a sine function of three times the frequency should result in a really cool triple-loop curvy shape whose profile along the axis of propagation is a pretty three-lobed thingy. If you have a parametric grapher, you can see the lobey thingy with:
Y=sin(t)cos(3t); X=cos(t)cos(3t). Give X and Y a range of at least one and give T a range spanning at least one half cycle.
