im afraid im gonna have to confiscate your testicles.

What are you, the Cyber police? lol.

This post is coming from my new PC. Im pretty excited about it. Here are my specs, id like some comments on how it is and if its good for Halo 2 Vista
Thanks!:

Windows Vista Home Premium
Intel Core 2 Quad CPU @ 2.40 GHz
3070MB of ram atm (Installed UT3 today)
Direct X 10 NVIDIA Geforce 8600 GTS 1008 MB
Sound: Digital Output Device (SigmaTel High definition)

Is it overkill, good, average, bad, or poor?

Stupid parents let their stupid children play games that are rated M when they should be playing Big Birds Spelling Adventures

Also the AR is actually good in CQB now and no longer a glorified baseball bat.

I would go with overkill at the moment.

Except for one thing: why didn't you get an 8800 with 1GB of VRAM?

People have been saying that the 8800 has been causing them some problems with their PC. I went with another one.

The 8800 is a MASSIVE step above the 8600 though.

Yes, I am a hypocrite, and I'm sorry. I really do mean well, but I'm not running on all cylinders.

Everytime someone buys a copy of Halo 2 Vista, a puppy dies.

I have an 8800 GT and it rips through every game I've tried it with. Much better than 8600. Quad-core @ 2.4 Ghz didn't work so well for me, so I took the machine back and got a dual-core at 3.0 Ghz instead. Much better performance for stuff like Gears of War, Crysis and Halo 2.

it's overkill, and y get a geforce 8600 with 1 gb vram when you could get a 8800 256-512mb of vram, mabey cheaper?

Just noticed something on UT3 today. The characters on the game in a game playing, well for mine anyway, there are black shades of squares that show up on him when the screen is moved, same for when I have the Stinger Minigun out and you can see your characters arm, I see the black shades. Is it my video card? I know its a little off-subject for Halo but im just a little concerned.

My first question: Is my PC good enough for Halo 2 Vista? Time is killing me because Im trying to get it.

P.S. I looked for the 8800, it wasnt available at the time...

it is good enough for H2v. But your problems with UT ARE from the 8600, you shoulda jumped for an 8800 bro, and you woulda been fine.

I still can't wrap my mind around why you'd go for the 8600 over the 8800.

Lack of knowledge. It happens. I had an 8600 before I took it back, got a good exchange for it and picked up the 8800.
