Your processor and RAM are right where they need to be. However, that card won't give you much. Your resolution won't creep above 800x600 without lag. You'll be able to enable effects like specular and stuff. Just don't enable shadows, they will lag your card and really don't add much to the game.

Hmm. Halo seems to slow down most computers, even mine. I have the 9600XT, and it will drop below 25 fps in a heartbeat. I get used to not being able to judge what is going on around me :)

Half life 2, on the other hand, seems very realistic for how demanding it is. My 9600XT never lags, and the resolution is 1280x960, texture and detail set to high, water detail high, etc., and even antialiasing and filtering is up to 4x - yet it still doesn't lag! Half life 2 seems to be older card friendly, so you'll have more success playing that...and besides, Half Life 2 is like, the game of the year, it's just so awesome.

Heyyo,

You see, Valve = good at computer games

bungie = good

so far.. gearbox = mediocre. :(

and we all know M$ = usually buying lol...

Valve created HL2, incredible engine, best FPS engine out there, smooth. ;)

Bungie created a lot of great games. If they made Halo for PC it would've turned out much better.

Gearbox made HaloPC playable, but not run as smooth as we all hoped.. and pretty much started cause of Valve's HL1 Engine.

M$ well, they bought out Halo to be more of a M$ title diddn't they? There's only 1 game series that M$ does well: Age of Empires. The others were merely clones and not as great as their AOE series... hope they don't taint AOE 3 with some of the crappyness of the clones...

As for HaloPC settings? no dude. Specular Lighting affects the framerate THE MOST. This ain't HL2 now Davis. If you think about it, it's just layers of 2d art with some filtering. Shouldn't affect framerates as much as it does. Gearbox diddn't optimize this properly, and with the lack of fast shaders in HaloPC? nasty. HaloCE has fast shaders, but still is a little unoptimized, especially compared to HL2.... Shadows don't affect the framerate too much, unless there's like 6 people and some vehicles n' stuff on the screen, then it'll lag down, especially on that videocard. I had a FX5600, it hated specular lighting, and shadows a lot. So if my old videocard card (yep, got rid of it, wasn't worth my cash..) was slightly better than your current videocard? you'll want both spec and shadows off.
