There seems to be a growing interest in Halo CE again, so just hang on in there dude!...

If you are a bit short of someone to play, I'll give you a game!

well, ive never played CE, and come to mention it, im not the best at Halo anyways, but thats a different story. I would soooooooooo download Halo CE, but Halo itself sucks on my comp. for some reason or another, my parents bought a dell, and everything is awesome but the 3D accelerator chipset thingymajig (yeah, a chipset). Soooooooo, halo is ok most of the time, unreal tournament demo really sucks and i would assume that Halo CE wouldnt be too great. But i plan on upgrading my comp, and being able to play Halo CE. woot!

whooo hooo color!!! (i think)

Well dude with a 200$ ATI your problem is solved...and btw...Halo CE i think runs smoother then Halo PC...aaanyway you should start downloading from now...cause its a lot of downloading...170 MB Halo CE,300 MB or something edditing kit and a nice 1 GB map pack...good luck...it took me a lifetime but it`s worth it

Okay, I've got the download but am holdling up installing for the following reasons:

1) Will this effect my current profiles? I'm new to Halo and am going through the Campaign right now and don't want to lose my saved games.

2) People talk like there aren't many people playing CE. Will have trouble finding someone to play at random times (3am)?

3) Do you have to have the exact same mapset as a server to play on it? This would probably limit you to playing on just one server most of the time.

4) What are the chances of Hackers cheating on here easier? I mean it is modable, so could someone just make themselves invincible and with a Golden Gun, if you know what I mean.

I'm not opposed to installing CE, I've got it on my computer waiting to be installed, but I would like to have these questions answered first.

1) As long as you keep Halo PC installed on your computer you will not lose your profiles.

2) I wouldn't know about 3 in the morning but it is not going to be 3 in the morning everywhere. I once played a game at about 9pm. and someone said it was 4am there. (Sweden). So I don't think you will have a problem.

3) I will let Muffmeister answer this one because I'm sure he will post here soon.

4) I'm sure it is easier but the Halo CE community seems to be better about it. I have been in numerous games and have not come across a cheater yet. So it shoudn't be a problem.\

Hope this was helpful. Muffmeister should explain everything better but I hope this will work for now.

Right, you can go ahead and install Halo CE, because it has nothing to do with Halo PC... Except they are more or less the same game... just different.

You will NOT lose any data.

Yes, you will need the exact same maps as a server you wish to join, but it isn't really a problem. If you want to play a particular map, just host one on that map.

In my experience, people playing Halo CE seem to be more polite but I might just be lucky in the servers I join. I don't think I've encountered anyone cheating in Halo CE before, but I might be wrong. Even if they were, it didn't help them :)

At the end of the day, you should always be able to find a server to play, or someone will join yours. I'm usually on untill around 3 or 4am most nights so that I get to play at the busiest times (which is when the people Stateside get on). I'm in the UK.

So, what are you waiting for dude?... Come in and DIE! (Sorry, I mean play....lol)

I never could have guessed you were in the UK especially not because of your website. Haha. All I know is that you are one GOOD Halo player. The Halo CE community would be no-where with out you.

P.S. I WILL beat you one of these days.

Okay I installed and got your Map pack, then went to run it and I'm running into a problem.

When I first installed Halo PC, I would only get the Halo screen without a menu and it would just lock up there. After installing the 1.06 update, it ran fine.

When I run Halo CE, I get the same problem as I did when I first Halo PC before the update. I get the Halo screen but I can't see the menu. I can move the mouse around and here the *click* noise that it makes as it passes over a word, and I can even click on it and here a noise, but the view never changes. All I ever see is a Halo back drop.

Any suggestions. I'd love to try this mess out.

You are the first person to report any kind of problem, but I'll look into it...

Every one else seems to recieve a reasonable service so maybe you should start looking closer to home...

I absolutely loved the map pack that Muffmeister created. 7 kbps??? Mine was about 80. Unless you guys are talking about a different map pack. I downloaded Hall of Fame 1.

What you actually downloaded was BOTH Hall of Fame 1 & 2.

The Hall of Fame is basically one section, but I have split it so that loading times aren't too bad for people without Broadband.
