We all stood in the line to buy the game, we all read the articles, and we all know (or should know) that mainstream America is finally taking Video Games seriously. I'm no expert, but I feel like I'm stating the obvious when I say that Halo 2 is a major milestone in the entertainment industry. The entertainment industry has ignored gamers for far too long and now is the time to speak up and tell these people what we want. We want more, and we want it bigger, better and faster. I'm not just talking about more games, I'm talking about more types of games. I'm talking about real technological advances. I'm talking about movie producers, directors, and actors becoming more involved in the game creation process. I don't know if you played the Chronicals of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay, but in my opinion and from my limited point of view I think it was a revolutionary game in the sense that it created an atmosphere that I've never felt in a game before. The amazing voice work of Vin Diesel, X-zibit and others were just the start. Lighting, ambiant sound, the raw feel of the gameplay all contributed to an amazing gameplay experience. My point is, this is the kind of detail and creativity that needs to continue so that everyone can enjoy them. I'm not talking about hardcore gamers or even casual PS2 owners, I mean everyone. I would love it if a game came out that my grampa would enjoy, some kind of "interactive movie" with simple gameplay that feels more like a movie that you control. Everyone likes movies, and everyone likes games. You see where I'm going with this? Anyway, I'll wrap this up before people start hanging themselves.
