Now I have one that I havent seen yet.
After doing a reformat and clean install ( been about a year) and a new mother board and vid card (256 radeaon) doing all the patches bla bla bla, Halo PC works great "BUT" when I try to start Halo CE it gives the old (it seems your 3d accelerator is off please run DXDIAG. Well just for giggles I ran it and all is well. Of course it is Halo PC works fine. Yep uninstalled reinstalled, redownloaded and reinstalled. Any ideas???? Have I missed a patch for CE???

check if you're using OpenGL or Direct 3D. Right click the desktop, go to settings, adnvanced, and 3D settings. For me at least, my radeon will not run most games if OpenGL is enabled - of course that's stupid, OpenGL is nvidia's thing, but nevertheless...it may be that the setting is messed. Otherwise, *cough**cough*, I have no clue as to how to help you. you do have the catalyst software suite, right?

Heyyo,

Well, MarD's here. ;)

Ok, check what davis said, cause he's a fully fledged pc tech support dude, and i'm only a student so far. ;)

Also, what version of the catalyst drivers you have? I always recommend nothing above v4.5 cause the newer ones seem to run worse on all games... but then again it could just be my videocard.... :(

I doupt this'll help, but you can try running it in compatibility mode to see if that helps...

Ok yea which video card do you have. I know you said its a 256 mb radeon, but it could be old, and might be part of the problem

Well not to lessen the skills of any of you because you all have helped me out on several occasions but LOL I'm a Lan Admin for Verizon and I cant figure this one out. Anyway the card is a 9600 256 running 3d latest drivers, catalyst software, 3 gig cpu, 1 gig ram, bla bla bla. Now I would "think" that if Halo PC works wonderful on this card that CE would work the same. lol NOT. Well any way thanks for the effort. Y'all are great people.
