im afraid im gonna have to confiscate your testicles.

What are you, the Cyber police? lol.

Ok, so not too long ago I installed Halo on my new PC. I found very little things new other than me being able to play on max resolution with no choppiness. However, the framerate, its still 30 FPS! Wouldnt it have increased, its my new PC after all... the option whether Vynsc No Vynsc or 30 FPS is there, and I only can choose 30 FPS. Also, my sound card, Hardware Acceleration and Environmental Sounds are still greyed out for me in Sound options. Is this right? I mean, I could understand all this on my old PC, but my new one? There is a HUGE HUGE HUGE HUGE leap between my old PC and my new one.

Whats your refresh rate? And maybe the sound card is old, unless it's a X-Fi.

I do know that on most on-board sound cards you won't be able to choose hardware sound options.

I deeply apologize for my foolishness. I talked to a friend today and he explained that the option 30 FPS does not change. D'oh! He told me to set it to Vysnc for best play and graphics.
But the sound card cannot be that old Snorky, I just bought the PC, its built pretty well and costed 2000$. And for Halo to be built in 2001 or 2... the sound card has to completely overshadow the sound and max it.
My sound card is good enough though, my friend told me I should be able to hear MC die on multiplayer in a 16/16 player server, and same for Halo 2. Ill check more things out though.

My sound card is a SigmaTel High definition, is that a good sound card?

Still, I'm willing to bet that you either have a sound 'card' (motherboard add-in card), or some RealTek HD Audio chipset.

Yes, I am a hypocrite, and I'm sorry. I really do mean well, but I'm not running on all cylinders.

Everytime someone buys a copy of Halo 2 Vista, a puppy dies.

The Sigmatel sound chip won't have enough channels and probably doesn't support hardware acceleration. You'll hear sound cutting out or not being played at all. Try to get a Creative Labs Sound Blaster X-Fi or Audigy if you want good sound for gaming.

Vista itself doesnt even support EAX. It will with the X-Fi brand and the Alchem thing

With a Sigmatel sound card, would I be able to get sound fine in H2V? If not, ill have to look into a better sound card >_>

ON my old xp my integrated sigmatel plays halo 1 in EAX, while in my vista my sould blster 7.2 integrted HD sucks at h1 sound. But its good at other things, and makes beteer sounds in other video games and videos? so y only h1 worst? i have latest h1 updates and drivers for sound card from 07. I got a spaecial offer from bioshock a x-fi for $20 in mail in reabte( whatever that is) but parents don't want me opening up and messing around with pc

Do you know how incredibly little how much your PC "costed" has to do with anything?
You obviously got shafted. Unless you have a 8800 Ultra(stupid) and a QX6700 there's no reason for you not to have a X-fi on a 2k PC.

Mine is built... it was a gift from my parents because it would be a while before I could work up my own money for it, due to other expenses for school and other things.
