64 bit is actually poor, there are 256 bit cars out right now. The FX5700 - it won't run most games that are new. The best value is the 9600XT, it actually has a core the same speed as the 9800 Pro. It doesn't lag much.

Good Cards: 9600XT, 9800 Pro, x800 (any in the series.)

Basically, your slot type will decide which version of a card you will get. Take it to your local shop and ask them if you have AGP - most likely you do.
