"I'm a 40 in Team Spelling, but I have the most worstest time leveling up in Team Superlatives."

I do not like the pinned and top topics showing to the right while within a thread. Other than that I do not see any problems thusfar.

the scroll button seems to be a problem on your end. I can scroll up and down just fine with the wheel or by clicking the wheel in. I also have Firefox, so I don't know if you're using something else that is preventing you from doing that. But i do agree, everything seems kind of cluttered. Especially on the main forum, theres like 1000 words on the screen that all look the same.

Hmm, I'm just using IE but when I hold down the wheel I can't go up or down unless I go outside of the topic area. Do you have the problem with the quote boxes disappearing? If it is just a browser issue they should have tested that.

And like I said wasted space

my quote box works fine, try upgrading your IE or downloading Firefox.

I can't I'm at work, I don't have admin rights.

weioyforevm,.w9uofepcmj,

A bit better after clearing my cache, but it still looks terrible.

I would've liked to see who posted last. Not too big of a deal, though. Overall, 'tis hawt. ;)

If there's one thing I have learned in working with you, it's that there is always margin for error.

hey, did anyone else notice that the campaign pictures are now visible as thumbnails?

I like it! I like the feature of the Optimatch forums and the group backgronds.

  • 01.30.2008 5:01 PM PDT

I dislike it. Sigs are more useless than before, and the forum banners got worse. The Halo PC banner went from an ugly orange to just plain ugly. ( I miss the classic Maw banner. Why did they have to change that in the first place?)

The new forums look AMAZING, awesome job guys! 0_o It makes the forums a LOT easier to read, and people might actually see the pinned threads this way. Honestly, every forum should have a layout like this.

Props to the Bungie web team on this, way to go!

EDIT: The only thing I can really complain about is the titanic amount of wasted space on every forum page now, as useful as that sidebar thing is. Now people will complain even more about "walls of text" because the pages will be longer. Also, we can now report our own posts (yay!) and the "Join this group" link is still hard to find. Maybe it could be in a nice bright colour in the little group menu under the group's name?

My initial reaction to the new site design is that it lacks simplicity and suffers from too much detail. Why place the pinned topics off to the right-hand side of the page? I think this decision makes page overly cluttered and more confusing than it needs to be. At the very least, pinned topics should go on the left since most of us in North America have been conditioned to read from left-to-right so this new aesthetic seems counter-intuitive.

I agree with earlier comments that the pinned threads should not appear in the sidebar of a specific thread.

New Marathon? Thanks Bungie!

a little weird but l think we will appreciate it more than the older version as we get used to it

this thread is full of so many retards that its ridicules

I think the thread listings are too hard to read. Although, if someone were to gray or fade the line underneath every thread title that reads "Posted by XXXXXX on XX.XX.XX XX | last reply on XX.XX.XX," then I think that would help tremendously.

Just my two cents.

|_|||___/ /__/~'''|_|_|_|''(0)-------------< ; ; ;)

(note: i have not read through the posts on this thread. i'm just stating my opinion about the changes)

i'm not overly fond of it. i'm not against the changing of the forums, but there are a few things that i do not really like.

first off is that it really bugs me when i can't see the name of the last person to post. when i go to a thread, i guess i depend too much on who the last person to post was. when i post something, and then i want to see what other people post after me, it is really useful to be able to see that i wasn't the last one that posted so i can go and look and know that someone else has posted, instead of trying to pay attention to the exact time i posted it. It just comes way in handy and is very convenient.

and second is the sticky topics. you can't even see the time of the last post, which i dont like, and you have to go to the very first page in order to go to the last one which is a little hindrance as well and is fairly annoying.

but other than that, i dont have anything against the changes. i actually like having the top topics off to the side so people can see what is being widely discussed and hop on in.

Its way to cluttered up, its actually kind of hard on the eyes at first. This may take a while to get use too..........

I like the new layout. It's pretty cool and better organized.

Are you elite?? join Elites of War

I like the new layout. Except that i can not see people's entire sigs. I only see what will fit in the box given. Are we supposed to be able to scroll down??

Btw - polls on bungie.net mean absolutely nothing

I have to agree with DERAGOTH on this one.

It does seem clutered in some parts and just open space in others, and yes sometimes when im reading a post the quote box will dissappear around the quote and making it look like its part of the post.

I also have to move my pointer over the right side to get the click down scroll thing to work, but I never use that (I allways just you the scroll wheel normal) so thats not that big of a deal.

I think it just being something new is the hardest part but I'm sure over time it will grow on us all.

This is ugly and a usability nightmare.
It's like someone chewed up the old forums and vomited up this mismatched pile of mess all over the place.

Day 2 and still don't like it. I have dual monitors and this is really annoying because I have to look at the left side of my left screen but those friggen pinned topics in yellow keep drawing my eye. As well before I would only have this forum for about 1/4 of my screen. The forum would just be a 5" horizontal bar that I could scroll through and check out topics. Now I might as well have a 5" by 5" square with all this wasted space (what are you guys going to start selling ad space there?). But I'm not even sure I want to do that because it's so cluttered with stuff. I mean take a look at what a topic looks like with 0 replies, it's very clean and easy to read. But when someone posts then you get the added stuff right below it and it's distracting. (and why isn't that info shown when they're zero posts? There are topics I won't click on because of who posted them but I have to wait for someone else to reply before I can see who the o/p is.)

If you actually had any UAT for this make sure you get outside opinions and not from someone who's going to blow sunshine up your arse.

And I agree that the pinned topics should show when the last post was made and by who. It just looks like an faq thread and not an actual discussion.
