Hey! to anyone out there who would be able to help.... (including you, Marty, if you could)
I would like to have my highschool orchestra play some stuff from the halo soundtracks (1 &2). I was wondering if anyone knew how I would go about doing this legally. I am adept at, and would not mind making an arrangement of themes from the soundtracks, though any sheet music would be helpful. I am capable of writing my own music that parallels the halo music, but I wanted to know what copyright infringement problems I would run into... how do I go about getting bungie's permission to perform a piece as such, and how much would it cost (even if I weren't to charge for admission to the concert).
Help?
Y'know, I honestly don't think they'd care about copywrite infringement...I can guarantee enough people have played Halo so they'd recognize the theme. I bet Marty would think it's pretty cool, actually.
Have you actually figured any of it out, though?
I've figured out some of his stuff, mostly the cello part in the main theme, I'm working on the viola and violin part, and I've figured out most of "The Last Spartan," but that doesn't translate very well to piano...
Anyhow, if you pull this off, be sure to get a recording of it and post it somewhere.
