When Master Chief and Cortana's ship starts falling down to that planet at the very end does that mean that more halo is coming

I thought it was awfully, awfully lame. I think with that bonus cut-scene with the mysterious planet they spoiled what was a classy, thoughtful and fitting ending to a trilogy which I confess I actually found kind of touching. Would that have been so bad? It's not even as if they didn't leave it open for more in the future, he's not dead or anything. But noooo, instead it's a cringingly huge 'cliffhanger' style ending, rammed down our throats with the subtelty of a brick, again.

I love "Luck"

Since they are drifting toward a mysterious planet and not a Halo, I think that it means that we're not getting more Halo, but "Mysterious Planet" instead.

Lol, so the nest game will be called "Mysterious Planet" and "Mysterious Planet 2"

Don't worry, when has the after credits ending ever been canon anyway?

...Except in Halo 2 I guess.

We're building a better world...all of them, better worlds.

I disagree. Would leaving that ending out make you any less certain Bungie will bring us more games about the Master Chief? I don't think so. If anything, the extra Legendary ending gives a little something extra to speculate and talk about. I think it makes it all the more exciting, and every game has done that so far.

And I really don't think you can compare it to the cliffhanger at the end of Halo 2. That game leaves you in the middle of a fight. This game hints at the beginning of another.

The ending always reminds me of the ending in Alien, which when you look at the UNSC and other similarities, may not be an entire coincidence...

Although just because they're floating towards planet, doesn't mean they'll be landing there.

Yes, it would in fact have given me a much stronger impression that they weren't making any more games with the chief.

But that's not my point, my point is they had a really good ending for the first time in the halo series and then they pissed all over it. A good ending is a rare thing, and they just undid it straight away.

A mere hint of more to come, like say how halo 1 ended, is good. The barest possibility of more to come, like the end of halo 3 before the legendary cutscene, is even better. Having the certain knowledge that there is definitely more, force-fed to you, is not a good thing - especially not at the "conclusion" of an epic trilogy.

I totally disagree. The ending to me was the best part of the game, and gave hope that a new IP in the same world will roll out in the future. Bungie knows that we aren't done with this story yet.

Each to their own, in terms of rabid halo fans it might be a good thing, in storytelling terms it's a complete trainwreck.

How can you even try to compare the halo3 ending to the halo2 ending? the halo2 ending dropped you off at the credits right in the middle of the best action in the whole game! you are there ready to pick up your contoller and finish the fight, and then it just ends. In this case the game ended, all the questions from halo1 and halo2 were answered, the book on the current story line was closed. Wouldn't you have been MORE dissapointed if there WASN'T a special ending. I mean are you really surprised that there is going to be another game in the Halo universe, I think it was fairly obvious they weren't going to abandon it.

A tosser is the same as a wanker. To toss oneself off is to fondle the trouser weasel.
