I've played Halo: Combat Evolved online on the PC, on XBC and Gamespy, and I've played the vandalized versions of the classic maps online on Halo 2, but nothing comes close to a full, unchanged version of Halo:CE for Xbox Live. No altered maps, no dual wielding or energy swords, just a full version of the original goodness. It's the Holy Grail of video games. It would be awesome. Please Bungie, make it happen!!!

I don't know if you've realized this but this is just about what everybody has been talking about since the introduction of Live in 2002, and hundreds of threads on this topic have been posted since then. There's like a handful of threads on the front page. I shouldn't have to even tell you to use the search bar, so don't repeat topics.

Is it going to happen in the near future? Probably not. Personally, if we got Halo for Live enabled as of right now, all we would have is an out dated game that came out in 2001, 'kay? I wouldn't consider it "the Holy Grail of video games."

Besides, it's not as simple as you might think, otherwise we wouldn't be having this discussion.

Dude. I respect your right to your opinion, but what great other topics are going on in this thread that we shouldn't be talking about the most important one that has to do with Halo:CE as much as possible: the fact that the best multi-player game in the last ten years, the best multiplayer game to ever occur on an Xbox, isn't available to be played on Xbox Live? And though it may be old, it's certainly not out-dated. I would argue that there was only one positive change between Halo: CE and Halo 2, and that was the introduction of vehicle boarding. Every other new feature detracted from the gameplay. Dual wielding? Energy Swords? And, even the match-making mode that makes it almost impossible to play a custom game over Xbox live unless you have eight friends all on at the same time, all made it an inferior experience to what a basic on-line functioning version of the first game would have been. The reissue of the old levels? Totally lame. Every little tweak they did took away from the fun of the original levels. While I am very happy and satisfied with Halo 3, it is a very good game, I know a ton of gamers who dream of playing Halo: CE, in it's original form, on-line with a good, non-laggy connection over Xbox Live. And, there's a reason why everybody on this forum has been talking about it since 2002: it would be that good. So, go play Halo 2 all you want, since it's "less out-dated" and so probably, in your mind, superior, and dual wield your plasma pistols, Master Kim, I just wish they'd let the rest of us have a blast playing Halo: CE on Xbox Live while you're busy doing that.

Twenty bucks, maybe twenty five.

I'd go as high as thirty five bucks if it included co-op and achievements.

No topic is too important that it should not follow forum rules when it says that there are to be no repeat threads.

It's not a fact, but your opinion, and especially one I would not agree with.

You want to know why? It came out in 2001, before Xbox Live was fully functional and because it's much easier said than done to remake Halo for online play over Xbox Live.

Yeah, but I didn't say I liked Halo 2.

I never said I think Halo 2 is better because the first game is out dated, you twit. :)

I would never say such a thing. I like Halo more than Halo 2, thanks.

The game would be out dated because we're still playing the same damn game that came out in 2001 except over an online connection. We're limited to the now scant amount of game types and features whereas the customizability for Halo 3 is endless (albeit I've had much fun with Halo more than Halo 3). News flash: As awesome as the first game is, games have changed significantly since then and standards have changed. You're essentially taking a game that's approximately eight-years-old and releasing that exact same game again with the relatively small addition of online play. Another news flash: You will have to suffer the effects of latency in almost every game you play and ever since the advent of online multiplayer have people had to compensate for such, so your dreams of a lag free experience, especially over the peer-to-peer gaming crap that is Xbox Live, is far off.

Anyway, the point is that everybody is already freaking talking about it so if you want to get into the discussion, then reply to someone else's topic instead of posting your own.

Okay, but did the other threads on it specifically ask how much people would pay for an xbox live multi-player version of Halo? That's important, because I want Bungie to realize that it is financially viable and worth the added effort it would take to go back and rework the code. Therefore, this is different, and worth while, and warrants it's own thread. Hopefully, eventually, enough people will have voted for being willing to pay decent money for it that they might decide it could be worth it. Hey, it's worth a shot!

Yes! Like I said, this is a repeat topic. There are many different iterations of what people posted but in the end they're all about Halo having online multiplayer. (I would give more links to polls about pricing regarding Halo with Live-enabled, but the forum's search feature is absolute crap.)

Bungie is the best.

Simple as that.

I would pay upto $30 because i think that Halo online may be worth all the programming effort to keep not just the community happy but Bungie themselves. They must know that Halo: Combat Evolved could have been better but, havn't found the time to do it because, of the production of Halo 2 and Halo 3. Plus on one hand Halo 2 was supposed to compensate for Halo: CEs' lack of LiVE. So overall it shouldn't be done because, they've already done it in Halo 2, plus i know my friends woudn't be happy at a LAN party at my house if i told them to but Halo:CE into their Xbox 360s', just to play a few classic matches, more popular and fun on Halo 2 and definately on Halo 3. Well that's my opinion, also i really don't want to argue about it because, it's all opinion, so is yours, only Bungie can really say and they have already spoken... no.

Anything, especially if Bungie threw in a BR.
