Same as in Halo:  25%

It kicks ass either way, its Halo!:  31%

It just occurred to me the other day- Halo had lesser gravity (because halo has lesser mass than earth). Im very intrigued about whether Halo 2 will have stronger gravity, as its more realistic in all. Personally, i think it would be best to keep gravity loose. Thats fun. Anyway, i was wondering what everyone else thought about this.

The reason why I want gravity to be like in Halo is that it makes it easier to do crazy fun stuff, like getting to the bottom or the top of crazy places. Realistic gravity would really limit that.
Or- should gravity differ in different locations, ie earth and the moon?

You forget about centrifugal forces and also the possiblity of artificial gravity. In the books it mentions it has the same gravity as Earth. Also people have tested the gravity in Halo and found it does in dead equal roughly 9.8 m/s/s.

Edit
Halo 2 is also supposed to have low gravity levels and possibly high gravity levels. Sounds fun.

SB-117

When a ring object spins it creates gravity, Halo has ALOT less mass than earth but it still has roughly the same gravity because its spinning.

The gravity WILL differ from place to place. unless there is no moon mission. But i'm pretty sure halo's gravity was the same as earths gravity. The reason why you could jump so hi was because of the suit and MC's training, and the reason why vehicles go so high was cause of their light weight.

question- how did you calculate halo's gravity?

Get on top of something high. I chose the top of the Silent Cartographer, they give you a nav point to the Warthog so you can know the distance of the fall.

What you know
d=distance traveled
t=Time how long it takes you to fall
a=acceleration

Since with the Halo physics you fall at the same speed your falling velocity is constant.

a=d/t/t

actually i think earth and halo have the same gravity. MC could jump that high because of his improved strenght

My thumbsticks will be your Doom.... sorry 'bout that.
My Stats

Wow that's pretty cool Hedwig I'm gonna try that (you must have to hoof it at the beginning then... i get it) But i'm a little confused by your little math equation(?)
"a=d/t/t"
? acceleration= distance/time/time????

now... Velocity = distance / time
and... Acceleration is the increasee in Velocity
but it's summer and my physics class doesnt start til the fall so I'm just gonna go play Halo now instead of looking up math equations. (thanks again for the Halo physic's experiment!)

halo had very little gravity. you were being bulled our because it was spinning

I've heard of the gravity goddness, but has anyon heard of anything involving melee combos yet. The only thing I've seen so far is when the MC did such a combo in the 9 minute demo at E3 that year. Just wondering.

In the gameplay demo video it shows MC and his 3 soldiers jumping and they kind of glide through the air. It looks like the gravity isn't realistic to Earth.
