I'm not too good at sniping. I can consistently take someone down, but with two shots. I don't do it much because its not my cup of tea. I like the pistol and the shotgun, myself. I got nothing against snipers. I don't think it requires to much skill (I can snipe ok), but like everything else you can have enough skill that you're awesome with sniping. Though a word from the not so wise: you shouldn't just rely on one thing (for example sniping). You should have skill in multiple fields to succeed in halo. Like someone I play. He's good with the sniper rifle (he doesn't use the tactics a sniper should, he's just a good shot), but with everything else he's average or worse. So I beat him. Another person is good at sniping, but he's also good in other areas, as a result he's the best player in our group. Playing him on Hand em High is very annoying cause he's awesome with pistol sniping.
Thats actually the same reason whoring the tank isn't very smart. Don't rely purely on one tactic. Flexibility is what will see you through to victory. People who think the tank is the ultimate piece of equipment in the game need to play it some more, not to mention someone who just sits in it and blasts his enemies with instant kill mortar shells shouldn't be bashing snipers. I don't like the tank, but thats purely oppinion.
