Yes, you have to be master of any weapon, pilot of any vehicle and fear no enemy.

Well the PP you just cant be good with. Its even hard to own a regular noob with it. Unless its like the ultimate noob of course. But the overcharged shot is way to easy to dodge in multiplayer. And the shots seem to go in "slow motion" when fired.

sniping isn't that hard because although i am an expert with the pistol, i hardly ever pick up a sniper rifle and can kill people in vehicles relatively easily. snipers are just people who have no skill with close range weapons and are too scared to face their opponent up close

You say people who hide from other people are -blam!-, but in retrospect you hide in a steel cage, so...many can say your a -blam!- for using tanks. Just to piss this guy off, there should be a level where the emphisis is to snipe, and if you don't snipe...you will be.

using tanks is NOT -blam!-, its smart. there are so many ways to take out a tank i can't count them all. Most people are too scared of dying or too stupid to just hop into a ghost and get behind the tank and pelt it with plasma so you can't turn the barrel around. and you don't hide in a hole with a tank. you drive down the map and obliterate everything in your way, very much putting you in harm's way UNLIKE snipers who hide and complain when they get shot at

Yeah, but look here comes a rocket, but its so slow, ill just get out let it hit me and shoot the guy. Lots of skill there, a ghost is easy, shoot the ground infront of him, and a ghost shouldnt get close to you anyways, if it does, you have the worst shot ive ever seen.

yes FYI i can shoot a ghost i was just listing a tactic to use against tankers who aren't as good as me, i am nearly unstoppable in a tank unless a sniper shoots me:(

lol. Sniping is an art. Its alot more difficult then firing a tank round. A sniper bullet only kills if it hits you, a tank round can hit within 10 feet of you and you still die. Seriously, tanks are for noobs, snipers are for pros.

Having said that. True snipers don't camp for the whole game though, they move to avoid detection, get 1-2 kills, and move on to a new spot, best way to avoid people tracking where you are.

Cheers,
~Kain

I want there to be snipers in Halo 2, but i want them to be more realistic. so the scope moves around instead of being perfectly straight. And the covenant will have a Sniper rifle too

for someone who does an awful lot of complaining about people flaming you, you sure do flame for no reason. Don't flame people. I have a love/hate relation with snipers, depends on who I'm playing =)

I disagree. Close range, you can own people with the plasma pistol. You just have to learn to shoot like the Jackals on Legendary. You can take down shields and at least 1 or 2 bars of health in about 2 secs. Then it overheats, which is when you switch guns or go for the melee kill.

tanks are for smart pros who realize that if you take advantge of the tank being there and use it in the right way you can deal out serius damage unlike no0bs who just rumble down the map and get killed. snipers may be pros, but their supid not to realize that taking out three people in a warthog at the same time is way better than taking out one person at a time

lol you must be really pathetic if you find it difficult to kill someone with a sniper rifle

the only n00b weapon in halo is the shotgun. Whenever I play my friend,he just grabs oversheilds, charges me suicidally (close quarter maps), jumping up and down, firing, and if he kills me insists its pure skill. he also looks at other peoples screens when we play split screen.

it takes a lot to be scared of a tank..... a couple of well placed plasma gernades or rockets will do it in. all you have to do is stay out of the open./

I'm not too good at sniping. I can consistently take someone down, but with two shots. I don't do it much because its not my cup of tea. I like the pistol and the shotgun, myself. I got nothing against snipers. I don't think it requires to much skill (I can snipe ok), but like everything else you can have enough skill that you're awesome with sniping. Though a word from the not so wise: you shouldn't just rely on one thing (for example sniping). You should have skill in multiple fields to succeed in halo. Like someone I play. He's good with the sniper rifle (he doesn't use the tactics a sniper should, he's just a good shot), but with everything else he's average or worse. So I beat him. Another person is good at sniping, but he's also good in other areas, as a result he's the best player in our group. Playing him on Hand em High is very annoying cause he's awesome with pistol sniping.

Thats actually the same reason whoring the tank isn't very smart. Don't rely purely on one tactic. Flexibility is what will see you through to victory. People who think the tank is the ultimate piece of equipment in the game need to play it some more, not to mention someone who just sits in it and blasts his enemies with instant kill mortar shells shouldn't be bashing snipers. I don't like the tank, but thats purely oppinion.

i'm offensive and defensive with both the rifle and the pistol.. they both require talent, and that's something i'm really working on perfecting. no one is the best at Halo; there's always someone better with another weapon. just because you can't snipe, doesn't mean snipers are newbs.

Well you know,
Sniping RULES!!
because you need skill to do it and a lot of patient.
Searching this ultimate spot where nobody sees you, you align you sniper rifle and if you are doing it right you should see the hole battle thru your scope , than it's a question of who to shoot at the right time so nobody sees you.

So al you snipers out there,
remember my name because your gonna hate it!!!!!!!

Fight like men? Isn't fighting like men projecting stuff at each other? And isn't a sniper round thrusted out of a sniper's barrel a projectile? Seanyboy

I agree but the whole firing projectiles at other people is not fighting like men.
A real fight is a punch up. So melee all the way!

I like sniping, not becuse its easy to kill people with, but becuase it adds a new variable to combat and warfare in Halo. In other games there is little no sniping that can be used in multiplayer. With maps like Sidewinder and BG, you can either snipe or use conventional fighting techniques. I myself try not to stick to one type of fightign stlye just so people cant figure out your style. If you try to balanace your sniping skill with your close combat, then you can use both to defeat different enemies. The only kind of sniping I dont like is people who only stick to using the sniper rifle. The best players are versatile.

With advent fo the BR, sniping will possibly increase due to the versatility of having a medium range sniper rifle that can fire three round bursts out of zoom.

i don't bash snipers because i don't respect them, i do, i just don't like the way they fight.a sniper may take a life or two in a battle, but its the tank that turns the tide of the battle. i don't just have one skill with tanks, i'm very good with close quarters combat.

You know to be honest,
there are some days that MC Ice Man and I only Melee,
it's good for the training and you learn good walking of it.
It's really fun to, just trie it take "prisoner" and search each other and punch the guy.

That battle rifle seems like it will fill a role similar to the pistol. Zoomed medium to long range capability with the scope and close quarters power with the burst. I think it will be better than the pistol at short range. Depends on the power and range it will have.

Sniping is more than just aiming and firing. Its about finding a good snipe spot, finding targets, waiting for the most oppurtune time to fire and then getting a head shot.
There is a difference between aiming at someone and firing, hoping to hit them and
waiting and getting a instant kill. See the skill that is needed to be a good sniper.
All you do in a tank is drive to a enemy and shoot the ground around them and the splash damage does the rest.

P.S To all the people who think i am JUST a sniper i always carry a shotgun for close range battles.
