Will any text editor work with these codes?
Of the ones I hid in the image encodings, yeah, any text editor will work as long as it's not a rich text editor. So Notepad, Notepad++, BBEdit, KATE, whatever you happen to have.

When I use notepad, there are just a bunch of random symbols, numbers and letters; what is that gibberish?

Well the way a couple of codes have been hidden was simply by placing the codes at the bottom of all of that 'gibberish'. If you open an image in Notepad and see a string of 25 characters, you might want to go ahead and punch that in on the marketplace :-)

Oh, I can see those codes by just looking at an image's properties :-).

Hmm, a bunny. A crudely drawn bunny, to be precise. The artists over there can make Elites, but struggle with the basics. For shame.

I personally find it to be very cute.

Still, it isnt as cute as a Soffish Plushy would be. If only the Bungie Store would reopen to sell some...I could cuddle with a soffish all night....

That's because it's a jpeg. If it was a gif, it is relatively easy to add a little sumthin' sumthin' to the end of the code, but you can't do that to a jpeg. The only way (that I know of) to add extra information to a jpeg is to add it to the head code. A program that can read this information is JHead.

Actually, as long as you put the info after the null characters at the end of the file, you can put a small string into a JPEG file without corrupting it, but you'll want to open it in a viewer before uploading it to make sure the file is not, in fact, corrupted.
Really? I just tried it and it rendered the jpeg corrupt. I guess I'll play with it some more.

Anyways, here's an image with a message in the header information in the form of a comment.

Save the picture, then open it in Notepad. If its a .gif the code could be anywhere. If its a .jpeg .jpg then the code will be at the end.

Anyone else have the Matrix pop into their head? Perhaps it is a clue and has something to do with either that word or something that took place after that part in the movie (haven't seen it in ages.)
