Subject: Does anyone remember this layout?

This one

Good times..

On another note, maybe to the staff, hows about the idea of letting the individual member select which layout/theme they want? because I reckon pretty much everyone preffered that one to this new design that kicked in.. i dunno.. was it a year ago? must have been.

Or maybe it'd just create too much lag etc. I dunno.

Discuss.

"The new site will have a significantly smaller page weight (it is not nearly as image heavy, and has only 5 style sheets). After the first request, it gets even smaller because things are cached. "

I think that means the old one was laggy :P

We’re looking back laughing because they called us crazy, but we took that chance on that feeling, living for the moment, we were spinning in. Maybe we were a lot of things, but we weren't crazy.

Omg yes, I do remember that layout. I hated the things on the bottom because I remember it taking a long time or something.

That was before I ever registered at bnet. I'd check bungie.net a few times just to read the weekly updates, but that was about it.

I'm half-expecting a news ticker to appear on the bottom of the page one of these days, and a little graphic at the top of the screen showing the weather, time of day, and day/date.

I always thought that layout looked disgusting.
This one is so much better.

Uh, guys, your posts are almost exactly as wide as they were before. We checked.

That said, we're going to move the sidebar to the left to match the rest of the site and make for easier reading.

But people complaining about the space their posts get are complaining about imagined space, not real space.

For some reason, I think I would feel much better with the sidebar on the left. Why? I have no idea. But it probably has something to do with reading left to right....or something.
In all seriousness, I am getting used to the layout. But at first, it seemed like too much on the screen at once, for some reason.

I'm perfectly fine with the size of my posts, it's just the Sidebar is bugging me.

But it's good you're moving it.

Actually, what I'm more edgy about is the size of the forum index, it's kinda concise and horrible.

And the Shadow fell upon the Land, and the World was riven stone from stone. The oceans fled, and the mountains were swallowed up, and the nations were scattered to the eight corners of the World. The moon was blood, and the sun was as ashes. The seas boiled, and the living envied the dead. All was shattered, and all but memory lost, and one memory above all others, of him who brought the Shadow and the Breaking of the World. And him they named Dragon.

Remember it. Good times <3

Trying something once will increace your chances of success, because you tried it. Try someting twice, and your chances increase yet again - seeing as you've done it. Try something a few thousand times, and your chances of success is exponentially increased; this increase would likely provide success every time

Agreed. I didn't like the navbar either. The first few days it was rather confusing to navigate the site; and it lagged sometimes. I loved it none the less; still like this one better though.

Almost. Ahhhhhh Haaaaaa!

I know the post body isn't that different, it just seems that way with the intrusive sidebar.
