for once???????? lmao thats all we've seen in the last 3 months is MLG inspired changes that in fact alienate LARGE SECTS of lesser players... and with the BR starts in RBTB.... PICK UP A BR, THEY ARE EVERYWHERE. Getting to them would be part of the tactical ideal..... no right?? but i thought you wanted more "skill" based matches. NO, you just want your little crutch right? cant "pown noobs" with anything else? Sure seems like a waste of all the other weapons on the game huh"
YES! That's the problem! Instead of starting with a weapon that took skill to use, we're forced to play in maps saturated with overpowered close range weapons that are based on luck. Please don't try and tell me the H2 BR was overpowered. I bet you were the guy who would camp with the sword, weren't you? The "REAL FAN BASE" isn't a group of kids getting orgasms over the mauler, you know.
Bungie had such a good thing going with Halo 2. The weapons (especially the BR) were very well balanced. The melees worked (for the most part) Most of the maps were great (Especially lockout and blood gulch) and everything just worked well. Now we have a god-awful melee system, a weak BR, maps flooded with overpowered close range guns, and maps, not nearly of the same caliber as those in the first two games. I cannot tell you how many people I have met on COD 4 who left halo because of the poorly conceived multilayer.
Now, if in fact, "THE REAL FAN BASE" likes the way halo 3 turned out, that's fine, but there are many of us who miss the way Halo used to be. What Bungie could do is re release many of the old maps (they don't even have to be remakes) and more importantly, re release the old weapon sets, melee system, etc. The could give it it's own separate play list, and not even touch the H3 ones. Most of the people who left H2 left solely because H3 came out, not because they got bored of it. I'm sure more would play if they knew there was still a dedicated fan base playing it.
I don't see why that would be difficult. Bungie would keep the people who enjoy Halo 3, and gain back the people who liked halo 2. The fact is, there isn't an online shooter that is as good as Halo 2. Even the new COD 4, which, is a great game, cannot measure up to Halo 2. This would prove Bungie is dedicated to it's players, and would surly silence all the naysayers who constantly insult them.
