The Frozen Minority; Bungie's real underground. The oldest members, the deepest controversy, walking infamy.

I really love these threads. People requesting new mods. People requesting the removal of old mods...

Here's a tip for all of you - we see right through you. So you can sit here and deny it all you want. Say you just want what is best for Bungie (like you have any idea), but I will tell you what you really need to be told:
No, you cannot be a moderator. You don't ask to be in modclub.

What is best for Bungie is for you kids to worry about being members and let us worry about the state of the moderators.

So now I'm a beta tester. Let's see where this goes.

I know these "we need more mods" have always been around but they seem to be more common since people found out about Recon. Where Recon may have made some people try harder to get noticed through good deeds, many others have tried the route of becoming a mod.

There seems to be clues about that suggest that becoming a mod has a to do with being more than just a regular poster and not with actually trying to become one. I think that giving Recon to the mods have poisoned of the ambitions of some forum goers.

If I had one suggestion it would be that the next mod (or mods) to rise up should not receive recon. That would send a message to those who want to be a mod for selfish reason that the reward would not be what they might have hoped.

Recon: I'm not looking for a conflict, there just seems to be a lot of spam in the Halo 3 Section.

And as stated before, I changed my opinion around this topic. The system is fine, apparently.

Oh, and for all of the other trollers?.Have you ever modded something larger than 10,000 people? Get back to me when you have.

If I was ever selected as moderator(which I won't or else the Heroics would go on strike) I wouldn't even care about Recon. I'd just want to see a better community.

Pezz- I know. Asking for moderator is like asking for Recon.

But for the people looking on this and thinking "I Can Has Recon?" Here is your answer: NO!

There should be a rule that if new ninjas are selected they don't get Recon.

What? No. They are volunteering away their free time to watch over a community composed largely of 13 year old kids, who have nothing else to do but -blam!- at everyone else about [insert complaint here]. Its a nice little reward they get for that.

Seriously, I think this thread has pretty much been torn apart now... no offense

Yea, it was torn apart when people started to flame after I posted I was wrong.

Some people may be 13, but at least they can read.

here's the thing:
surprisingly enough, just like you and me, mods have LIVES. in this thing called a LIFE, people go out and do things they need to do or they enjoy. such as go to work, spend time with their families, or just hang out with friends. if they dont have time in their schedule to check on a internet forum, so what? its not like this rules what they do every day.

Over at HFCS we're constantly hard...

Wait...
What?

I know this has already been said, but I'll repeat it just to make sure everyone heard:
Only the Bnet team and the Mods know what the situation really is. They're able to see the big picture, while it seems many members only have tunnel vision focused on the relatively few spam threads that occur.

If new mods are needed, they will find new mods, and they won't need our help selecting them. Don't forget, they watch. They probably watch so much that they know more about you than you may know about you. So go about your business, be productive, and thrive here on Bnet. There's really no point in trying to become a mod, because they'll probably see your intentions, and your odds of becoming a mod is one in thousands.

Im just throwing this out there. do moderators get paid or any special benefits?

And back to the topic, does it really affect you if some random internets people are offline. Does it hold you back from looking yourself in the mirror or does it keep you up at night, wondering why those jolly ol' fellows are offline?

HA HA PATS LOST!

anyways there won't be any new mods this year, so don't get ancy.

And if there was accidentially 1 added, they'd be going thru some major training with the new systems now.

My YouTube Channel. Just getting into the Machinima business.

I really don't care if they get new moderators or delete the old ones. The community just needs to sort itself out. Sometime, the massive ammount of people who joined for Halo 3 will smarten up, and start to cut back on the spam, duplicate threads, and other nuisances. Removing the inactive Moderator's moderatorship, and putting new guys in will hardly accomplish anything. They could probably go ban crazy and not even dent the massive population of irresponsible users. I really do think that all we need to do is just wait it out, and take action when it is nescesary.

EDIT; To Pez: I don't want to start any conflict, so I'll try and choose my words wisely. Correct me if I read your statement at the top of this page wrong.

I think that you may have overestimated how some people regard your position as moderator. I personally don't want to be a moderator at all, unless Bungie bans 99% of the users. Then maybe I would want it. Maybe. Don't get me wrong, I really do appreciate all you guys do; but thats just it. I don't want to deal with the things you guys deal with. Not everyone is out for to get your position (though I realize a vast majority is), some are just content with being regular posters, and not having to worry about whats going on.

That is a really good point. most of the time these threads are people trying to become mods, but all thats gonna do is make the current mods mad. Thats a really good start to trying to become a moderator isn't it.

but it is tru that some mods don't get on as much as they should. Still that doesn't lead cause to get rid of them.

Even if the so called "inactive" moderators where stripped of their power, I don't see why it would make the forums any better since there wouldn't be getting any new replacements. Achronos has stated quite a few times that they wouldn't be looking for any new moderators for quite some time, and with the introduction of the spam button it probably won't happen for a long time.

Oh, well, the Alpha and Omega has spoken!

We're going to start repeating ourselves now, so it seems a good time to lock it.
