All throughout history great empires rise and fall. How you ask?
Two reasons:
1. Economic failure because of either inflation or socialistic programs.
2. War. Their armies were spread too thin and too far from home.

The United States has bases all around the world in "hazardous" areas and it's economy collapses it seems every 20 years. Do you really think that history won't change? Do you really think that you can run the world?

okay, I was playing the level 343 guilty spark, I forget what difficulty it was but you know those doors? you go through them and its like a square? well I already met the flood and I go through one of the doors and there jenkins! I'm like huh? he dosn't move but his health is very low......it was creepy

"Those doors" and "That square" don't really help in determining where you were.

I think he means the area where the 3 marines rush into a room full of flood.

I've only been able to save 2 of them, and they run around. Occasionally, one of them will get stuck in the hall when he spawns and there won't by any infection forms with him. He stays still.

I mean like when you go through the door connected to that room, hes just sitting there in a corner....standing in a corner.....

Does he have chicken?

Sorry, I had to.

I would also assume that he met Chips-Dubbo again and thought he was Jenkins, or he ran into a really weird glitch.

Oh, you didn't!
Anyways, I came up with locations of marines in the level.
1. Mendoza up on the hill standing still
2. Crazy Marine shooting pistol in bloody, destroyed room.(yellow dots are ALL flood)
3. Dead marine that falls into arms
4. 3 Marines rush into a flood-filled room - can be saved
5. A dozen marines who need your help escaping at the top of an elevator

The whole level was scary, but I have to agree with you there. Those few areas were creepy as hell.

Bungie is the best.

Simple as that.

I wouldn't know what jenkins even looked like, i mean the guy sitting in the corner may not be the guy in the cut-scene that you, see what happens to the marines and get killed by the flood. Jenkins has a unknown image as far as i know, correct me if i'm wrong.

No, you're right. We watched through his helmet-cam. Never saw his face. In the novels he gets captured by marines, and helps them because the popcorn in him was weakened by the hibernation.

I don't remember any part with marines charging into a room with flood... can anyone tell me where that is?

  • 02.10.2008 6:57 PM PDT

that is right after you go down the lift in the structure, when you're trying to escape. There are 2 active camo's on the ledge before you jump down.

I've found the missing marine outside of the map near the 2D trees. He doesn't do anything though. Managed to save 2 of those shotgun marines inside the complex but they really aren't meant to survive as they just stand still and don't move.

Lots of weird stuff on that level. Once I was going back through the swamp with my marine buddies and they all froze in a perfect line and mowed down any flood coming down to them. Bit weird it were. Awesome though; a barrage of plasma rifle, AR and shotgun.

Yeah, bungie seems to have a bit of a trend to make a whole bunch of eggs and weird things on the flood-based levels. After all, the level in Cortana in Halo 3 contains an extra terminal and an extra skull, and then this has the lone guy and several other things which i can't remember right now.
