It is stated in halo1-2 manual that the energy weapons. ie plasma rifle, pistol and such can be recharged but the humans have no knowledge of how to do it. But while the Arbiter, you cannot recharge them.

Covenant section rushed a bit much or did they just forget? Discuss :)

Good question.
Maybe they "forgot" about it because of balance.

yeah probably

I'd say balance... And maybe they overlooked that too...

Back in my day we didn't have no fancy lasers, and the hogs were indestructible!

or perhaps you need a recharging station at a Forerunner production facility

Also Joseph Staten said in an interview that it was not a plasma that humanity understood, the UNSC knows it has high temeratures, and can be controlled by magnetic fields however they have no idea what it is comprised of.

Staten said in the interview that it was actually something "far darker, more arcane and deadly" but exactly what this means I am unsure.

OK, let us back up a second. Some things are just done or written because they make sense, or add drama, or just would be stupid to leave out. With the amount of dead Covies (if you are any kind of MC!) laying around, it is not like one needs to be able to recharge a weapon when there are a zillion laying around. But for the text of the manual, well it would not make sense to make a weapon that is battery charged and have no capability to recharge the darn thing, hence some one who writes text (not game) thought to include it!

In CE there are alot of covie crates and stations that you cannot interact with, maybe the recharging station is among them. But the bottom line is for the actual gameplay, one does not need to recharge anything, one just needs to take a new one out of the cold dead grip of a slain enemy (you can have my gun when you pry it from my cold dead fingers.....2nd amendment fans!).

erm we have batteries that can't be recharged, could they not have the same thing?

How can we make a battery by charging it and not recharge it? You can recharge a duracell. Just don't go making it a practice.

All those containers in the game that the Covies have for disposing weapons... probably can charge them. But heck, who cares? You don't like the game if you make an argument like that. There's plenty of other places to whine about things. Like the Halo 3 forum.

The fact that there are rechargeable batteries doesn't give you the slightest hint that there may be single-use batteries? (Rhudebaker)

Hell, I'll give you an example.

A regular Duracell battery, a non-rechargeable battery, can be simplified to:
Zn(s) + 2MnO(s) -> ZnO(s) + Mn(2)O(3)(s)

This battery is not rechargeable, and used in everyday life.

You ever tried charging one? Do that, before telling me with your chemistry that it's not possible.

yeh I just tried and it didn't work... kinda what I expected though.

Heat it up however and you can cause reactions with the few remaining zinc particles left inside, gets you a little bit more power.

Owned.
Graduate the 10th grade and you might know what I'm talking about. Until then, don't bother talking if you have literally no clue what you're talking about.

Maybe you shouldn't use a household charger.

And yeah, heating them up sure helped on the road trips when I was trying to sap the juice out of my AAA's for my gameboy pocket.

Graduate the 10th grade! Ha! Learn to use a welder!

At that point you're just dumping energy into the battery, and in all likely hood will not get a full charge out of it if anything.

Heating it helps the Zinc and Managanese Dioxide to react to one another, much like a catalyst.

How does having to use a welder and graduating the 10th grade have anything to do with one another, may I ask?

Because in 9th grade physics, when dealing with batteries, welding found a place in the classroom too.

I love to mess with your wording, so I'm going to do it right now. I'm dumping all that energy into the battery... well... then where's it going when it's not used? So I guess, at some point there, it's usable. Hahaha
