I dont ever have any peformance problems (or upgrades) when I update... But (as the title says) In v 1.03 and now in 1.06 I can only see 10 - 15 servers all with pings of 800 or more (or no visible ping). If I attempt to connect I recieve a network connection lost alert.... My 1.5mbps connection is working pretty well right now... I was just playing Day Of Defeat on steam with pings of 70 - 90... AvP2 with pings of 110 - 130. I havn't changed any settings on my router or firewall and they were working perfectly before (bolth are configured to the correct ports as well) So.... Whats going on? Is this new patch somehow lagging down the netcode? I can guarntee Its not a problem on my side.... so bungie/gearbox what did you guys do..... or maybe its gamespy??? somebody better step up cuz Im not the only one with these problems..... matter of fact just about ALL of us are running into these problems with your "Patch" (Although I would more think of it as a Virus as its caused more harm then good)

Calm down. V1.06 sucks major behind, do what I did: roll it back to v1.05 and watch the list of servers roll in. Basically, because the patch was a manual install, most mainstream users didn't bother. Well, you, like many of us here, did what we were told...I at least regretted it. It's gearbox, not only did they mess up the coding for HaloPC, but the patches just added more fuel to the fire.

This patch has caused nothing but trouble for our server. As a clan we use the server on a daily basis and we have found that there is some really weird stuff going on.
Lag issues, dropping dead for no reason, not being able to pick weapons up, last night a member walked up behind another guy meleed him 3 times nothing nada, the guy in turn turns round throws one nade and boom hes dead??? This is just a tiny list of the things that this patch is doing.
The problem is that we cant uninstall it as we have to have the latest version to be able to play matches etc. So Bungie or gearbox or someone please deal with this soon.
Seems that at present Bungie and gearbox are sitting back and racking in the cash, while us mugs are being left with this causing unenjoyable playing on our servers.
But alas were just the customers.

No one in my clan has had problems with 1.06, and my clan has like over 50 people over the world playing Halo PC. None of my friends have had problems with 1.06 either. When I connect right now, which is 5:41pm GMT, I see 981 players on 364 servers covering 25 pages in the lobby. If I set my filter to only dedicated servers, no passwords, no empty or full servers and a ping below 150, I get 314 players on 43 servers covering 3 pages of the lobby. So that's a lot of people playing 1.06 without problems. Maybe if you can't see that many games in your lobby, it's something to do with your filters or internet connection? Because you're not gonna tell me there's that many people playing 1.05 right now.

I couldn't get Halo PC to even run on my PC until I installed the update.

Thats the wierd part of this.... I've herd bolth ways... people saying that 1.06 works great... and then people who (like me) cant even get online... Like i stated before my computer is correctly set to play halo... I was playing 1.05 with pings of 60 - 200 depending on server... Then I saw that lovely MANUAL UPDATE REQUIRED message and like a good halo player, Went to download a Patch for a UNFINISHED product I already payed $50 for.... The annoying part about this is that Bungie Or Gearbox members have provided little or no help on this problem.... all I keep seeing is "Check your Settings!" (lol Thats what they said in 1.03 too!)
Well anyways I guess I face the enevetable... Re-Install (thank god user settings are stored in my docs :D)

Why should I make a patch when I can simply tell bungie to take 1.06 and burn it... and then roll back to 1.05 :D

Heyyo,

Bungie doesn't read their forums, it's just volunteer fans who moderate them. So your message never reaches Bungie there dude...

Heyyo,

Word. Another cool gaming company is "Bugbear Entertainment". They made the game Flatout and add stuff according to what the gamers post on the forum believe should be added in! :)

Check this out!

Many people asked for demolition derby in MP.

Now THAT'S how cool they are. ;)

Btw, if you havn't tried Flatout, you should. I think it's the best racing game on the PC. It's just such a great game... and once they add in Multiplayer? omg, racing heaven. ;)
