I know that Game Clips are just game data, not a video, but it would be nice if Bungie servers would convert these clips to video (flash for small file format). Anyone see this ever happening? It sucks that I have to download and load each Game Clip and only watch it online. I have a capture card on my computer, but my Xbox isnt in my office.

Seeing that its a mess to find a pal-60 compatible capture card/driver in europe I would love it. I believe that an engine is required though and im not sure if thats possible in the scale it would be used here on B.net.

You can't do that. The game data has to be recreated in the game engine before it can play. That's why you can't fast forward on your xbox.

The only way Bungie could do it is to pay for guys to sit at a desk manually recording the files with capture cards. That's what geevee do, and it's a slow process.

The current system is less than ideal, and most people can't be bothred to download and watch videos on their xbox, but what else can you do?

Order from U.S. ha ha

I got a Dazzle DVC 170 = tightness, but when you buy it you also need a video splitter cord.

How would that help me seeing that its a NTSC/PAL-50 card just like the one I already got which doesnt work. Europeans need a card/driver that can handle the PAL-60 output from those 360 games, including Halo 3, that are using this standard, which in reality isnt a widely adopted standard at all.

Now back on topic.

LOL, this can be done automatically. When you save a game clip, the camera angles/movement/etc are in the data. All they need is a server that runs this files and converts them to a movie in the background. For example. I could create a AutoHotkey script that records various keyboard and mouse movements on my computer. I could then run this script, run a screen capture program, and have this done automatically with another script. Believe me, this can be done automatically. The main question is will Bungie ever do it. The main issue would be the # of people who would use the service. If this was part of Bunge Pro (the pay service), I would definitely pay for it.

Isn't it complicated by the fact so many people would be using the system, with however much data is in a single game?

Old school Bungie, born and raised,
In the Septagon is where I spend most of my days.
Relaxin', maxin', posting all cool,
Talking about Halo, life and some school.
Got in one little argument, and the mods got scared,
they said "You're gonna get banned and your member title'll be bare!"

Except that the videos are saved in the form of geometry, textures, movement, and player damage. A game engine and emulator would be necessary to convert that data into an image, which would still be three-dimensional and quite impossible to directly render into a two dimensional film without having an output of the display and recording that output.

Yes, it would be complicated, but not impossible. Think about how much work YouTube is doing when you upload a video and it has to convert the file to a new format. As anyone who has converted video before, it requires a good deal of processing power. Using the Game Clips you would not be converting anything, rather just capturing it to a specified file format.

Compicated, yes.

Impossible, no.

Would it be free, probably not. Like I said, it could be part of the pay service.
