Have you by chance checked your NAT through the Xbox Live Connection Test? Often times if you have a Moderate or worse NAT it can slow down your connection with Live and can result in lagging and being bumped from games ultimately. This happened to me once before; so I checked my connection and my NAT was at Strict :S. I messed around with my router and it returned to open.

I'm not sure if this is your case, but it wouldn't hurt to check your Internet Connection and NAT. Another factor would be if there's a lot of people using the internet at your house at once.

I am posting this in the hope of relieving my frustration with Halo3 and DNF. Did not finish. I have been getting bumped for various reasons not always sure if it is xbox live or bungie.net but it is costing me achievement and skill points which does not allow me to get into the upper ranks where I might be able to play more mature and enjoyable games. Please is there any remedy for getting penalized in games that I have almost finished and this happens at least 60 percent of the time. Sorry if this post is lengthy or in the wrong forum. I enjoy playing this game but it might be short lived if this keeps up night after night. Thank you for any answers or insights.

Thank You for your info. My router is old and I just bypassed the router and went directly into the cable modem so far I have not been booted but I will wait until the busy time which is 10:00 pm but I do think you put me on to the solution. I am buying a new router mine is old and I appreciate your timely and knowledgeable response. Again Thank You. AugustusMax

Yeah no problem. I recommend a Belkin or a Linksys router. I have the Linksys WRT150N, which I bought a couple weeks ago and it hasn't failed me yet.
