zanzibar looks awesome! can't wait to play ctf on it! can't wait to play slayer on it! can't wait to see it crumble under grenades and rockets! anyway, my question is this: if we can blow up a wall then can we blow up a door? can we blow up a bridge? can we put a hole in the floor? can we blow up the gate instead of trying to open it at the controls inside? when players are behind those metal window covers and using them for cover, can we blow those up with an rpg round? this destructable environment is somewhat new to me, and my expectations may be too high, or my understanding may be rough.

You can't blow up walls into the opposite team's base.

i read somewhere that 'everything is destructable'. i will try and find it (i think it was at ign). i quess i must have misenterpreted it, then. i thought someone said that they had zanzibar so shot-up that it was just sitting on several metal struts of foundation or something like that. reading that, i had hopes we could rid defenders of their doors, gates, and/or walls. i had hopes we could put a hole in the floor in lockout- 'locking-out' a path for your foes... or putting an end to a useful bridge in other maps. what an addition to strategy that would be!

I read in one of those millions of write-ups on Halo 2 during E3 ( I think it was on IGN.com ) that a couple of guys guarding the base in Zanzibar decided to completly shoot away one of the walls supporting the structure. They blew away the wall, but the structure did not fall. It took them a long time to do it, so I think it wouldn't be a good strategy for getting inside the base. I also remember reading that a sniper in one of the CTF rounds shot away the supports for those metal plates protecting the window positions. By doing this, the sniper had free reign to take out the opposing team players inside the base:)

P.S.
This idea might just be a result of late night web surffing with pizza pocket in one hand and a coke in the other... I'm 90% sure that I read that at IGN.com.

maybe if you could blow a hole big enough to fit a spartan through would be cool.

Yea, I've thought about many possible situations. For instance, you are pinned down behind a wall with no where to go. One possible option for getting out this situation would be to shoot a hole through the wall, which would give you the freedom to spray a tsunami of bullets at your foes. Of course, my enemies could shoot through the wall and force me to make a run for it before I get through the wall:)

A whole new world of strategy opens up when you consider that it is fully destructible.

I doubt that Bungie will allow the entire base to be leveled! I think that it is just an extra bell and wistle to Halo 2.

Play as a team win as a team or die as a team!

Can u blow up holes into the building and walk in it? Say I'm outside and I blow up the wall with the rocket launcher can I walk inside?
