ATi's website is currently giving the latest version of ATi Radeon Display Drivers as Catalyst 4.12, and yet various websites are claiming to have all sorts of versions, most commonly 4.3, 4.5 to 4.8, there's even one which says it's has 5.1 for download. Can someone tell me which one I should be installing? My games seem to be running slower since I installed 4.12, and I'm sure I used to have 4.3 (prior to hard drive upgrade) which ran Homeworld2 on full settings without any problems at all. So what's going on?

i have a redeon 9200SE and i have driver version 6.14.10.6462, even higher than what you put down, most ATI cards use the 'same' drivers so i would assume that you could find a 6.14 for it, and mine seems to work fine the only grapical problems i have is that the alpha blending for multiplayer doesn't work right but its an advantage so i dont complain

Lol.... Active camo failure! OH CRAP HE SEES ME!

I use the Omega ATI drivers which are at 2.5.97a (most current omega) I think they are based on the 4.12's (Offical ATI Drivers are At 4.13 or something)... they work great if you want to overclock and tweak your card to the max :D

Radeon 9600 pro
800x600 res with most things turned on (no spec)
use14
i get 60 - 120 fps at all times :D

I've never seen a 9600 pro pull this off with the default drivers so maybe think about a try...

www.omegadrivers.net (ATI actually calls them the #1 top modded drivers and they are safe)

omg whoever put the 6.14blahblahblah look at the CATALYST VERSION not the 2d version... thats something else...

4.12 is the newest version of ati's catalyst drivers
if you want to look, just go to ati.com, and look in the bottom left, thats the newest version of their drivers. i use the manufacturers ones cause i dont want to bother looking around for better ones... lol

Heyyo,

Skip, DON'T go above ATI Catalyst v4.5 drivers. I've tried them all above those, and they all SUCK with HaloPC. I have no idea what they did, but they screwed the game over... not just that, most games run worse with those drivers. REMEMBER, most drivers are geared towards their latest products, so right now it's PCI-X videocards... I think I'll stay at v4.5 for the rest of my Radeon 9600 PRO's life...

Well 4.12 seems to be the latest driver even though numerically it doesn't sound like it. It seems to run everything ok, sort of. I'm still having problems with Homeworld2 but oh well.

Dude seriously you have to try Omega drivers... even if you dont want to overclock they kick ass (I play Homeworld 2 all the time with the newest ones ((based on ati 4.12)))
